They explained that “Rise” was the first time a lot of people outside of their fanbase had heard their music, and they wanted to “ease them into the world of Jack & Jack” by continuing the “tropical vibe”. “No One Compares to You” was originally all-acoustic, so they provided DJ Khaled’s sensation “I’m The One” as a reference for it’s reproduction. They felt its upbeat, feel-good nature would allow them to reach their goal of another radio hit.
The song details a subject who loves a girl but is unable to get her. They try to replace her, but fail because they can’t find anyone good enough.
Jack G: "The moments that inspired this song, I feel like for me personally, moments with my ex and then dealing with the break up. Going through the aftermath, which is I guess living the single life, and then in the back of your head, you want someone there because you miss the void that’s left from the person that you previously loved. That’s definitely a struggle, but I feel like everyone goes through that in the following months of a relationship."
Jack J: "Yeah, I feel like it’s a very universally synonymous feeling that everybody gets post relationship. You know, you try to have these skeletons in your closet and try to fill the void by doing whatever, but it always ends up backfiring. You start seeing this person’s face, and they’re always lingering in the back of your head no matter what you try to do, no matter how you try to cope. So, I think that’s the universal message behind the song, but we like to leave it up for interpretation, you know? However, you want to take it, you can take it."
Jack J: "The song actually started out very acoustically when it was originally just TMS producing it. It started out very kinda night and day versus where it is now, the final product. Jussi, we were grateful enough to have him come in on the track and kind of give it more of that tropical sense, so the contrast between the lyrics and production is very, very obvious."
Jack G: "Yeah, we felt like we just came off the tail end of this massive tune over in the UK called “Rise,” and we didn’t wanna throw off people who may have never heard of us before “Rise.”"

Like ships in the night, we never collide
Need you even after all this time
You can't be replaced even if I tried
I'm looking at her face but I'm seeing you
She's sleeping on your side, what can I do
We should be heart to heart, my mind is on you
Every time I think I've found somebody
I just wish that somebody was you
There's no way that someone else could make me ever
Feel the same way that you do
No-one compares to you
(No-one compares to you)
(No-one compares to you)
Make it hard for me to love again
Oh, where do I start and when do you end?
Even if I tell myself I can
I know that I'll break before I can bend, yeah
I'm looking at her face but I'm seeing you (I'm seeing you)
She's sleeping on your side, what can I do (what can I do)
We should be heart to heart, my mind is on you
I try, I really do
Every time I think I've found somebody
I just wish that somebody was you
There's no way that someone else could make me ever
Feel the same way that you do
No-one compares to you
My heart
Nobody compares to you (No-one compares to you)
My heart (No-one compares to you)
Every time I think I've found somebody
I just wish that somebody was you
Ooh, there's no way that someone else could make me ever
Feel the same way that you do
No, no-one compares to you
Nobody, nobody, no
Nobody, no-one compares to you
Nobody, nobody, no
Nobody, no-one compares to you
The lyrics of Jack & Jack's song "No One Compares To You" depict someone who is haunted by thoughts of a past lover, with whom they feel an irreplaceable connection. The singer is in a new relationship, but even while gazing at their current partner, they see the face of their ex in their mind's eye. The singer admits that nobody else they have met comes close to this former lover: "There's no way that someone else could make me ever feel the same way that you do." Despite trying to move on, the singer cannot shake the memories and emotions connected to their past relationship.

Almost everyone has experienced the feeling of being unable to forget someone from their past or finding it hard to move on from a previous relationship.
