Can't Stop
Jack Soul Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

know you're somewhere inside of the city
Drunk and holding someone else...
Feels like my senses are set to explode

Feels like we're soldiers
Constantly marching forward
Forcing onward...
Feels like sometimes I just don't want to go

Baby let me know
Have you ever loved something so bad?

Like I can't stop loving you babe
It's so pitch black in this place
And I start scaring myself...
I start to question my own mental health
Can anybody feel me at all?

I can't stop loving you, baby
In this world so tired and jaded.
Can anybody feel me at all?
I can't stop loving you, baby
In this world so tired and jaded.
Can anybody feel me at all?

Feels like were soldiers
Constantly marching forward
Forcing onward...
Feels like sometimes I just don't want to go

Baby let me know
Have you ever loved something so bad?

Like I can't stop loving you girl
It's so pitch black in this world
And I start scaring myself...
I start to question my own mental health
Can anybody feel me at all?

I can't stop loving you, baby

In this world so tired and jaded.
Can anybody feel me at all?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Jack Soul's "Can't Stop" express feelings of deep emotional pain and longing. The song's narrator is struggling to come to terms with the fact that his former lover has moved on and is with someone else, while he is still consumed by the intensity of his own feelings for her. He is overwhelmed by the emotions that he is experiencing, feeling like his senses are "set to explode." The opening lines suggest that he knows his ex-lover is somewhere in the city, drunk and holding someone else, and this thought is driving him to the brink of madness.

Throughout the song, the singer compares himself to a soldier, marching forward and forcing onward despite his emotional pain. He questions whether anyone else can understand how he feels, and whether anyone else can feel him at all. Despite his exhaustion and feeling of being "so tired and jaded," he cannot stop loving his ex-lover.

The repetition of the line "Can anybody feel me at all?" creates a sense of loneliness and desperation. The singer is longing for someone to understand him and his pain, but he feels isolated and alone.

Overall, the song is a powerful exploration of love and loss, and the pain that comes with trying to hold on to something that is no longer there.

He was incredible, without a doubt and it's a shame that cancer would take someone away at such a young age. His music is calming and fantastic and it makes me sad that he left so earlier. Truely incredible, what an icon.

I'm a classic hard rock drummer and I LOVE this song. Love the melody & love the groove. The female vocal at the end is KILLER.

This song reminds me of middle/high school, he was an amazing singer. RIP :( I wish he received more recognition for his talent

R.I.P. Jacksoul. No longer suffering. Now sleeping in peace. But his voice shall be heard up in heaven. He will be surely missed.

@TommyUB

My sister had me listen to his music years ago, she went to school with him. His voice is great. I did not know he passed or hear about it I mean. RIP. Pure Talent.

90s and early 2000s where the best years I honestly love that I grew up in this era

I’m 27 now and remember listening to this song all the time when I was 7-8 years old

This man voice is pure gold. I've had this album since 2002. Didn't know he was no longer with us. I'm heartbroken. So much more he would have given us. His voice transports me. Bloody shame!

I can't believe he passed away. I was so hoping that he was going to make a return to music with a new album. This is a sad loss for the Canadian Music scene. He was one truly talented individual, the great people in life should never pass away. RIP Haydain Neal (JackSoul).

@CAJman01

i went to his concert, and he was phenominal! he was trying to get the audience to sing along. lets just say we couldn't hit the same notes. he went from like really high to insanely deep in five seconds!! we couldn't keep up

@CyanBlackflower

I kept hearing this guy's music on the radio, years ago. Not one but 3 or 4 tracks. Each of which Really stood out in my mind. I made a note of finding out the name of the artist, and was increasingly pleased to find - one at a time, that they were ALL made by the same artist -Jacksoul. By the time this happened the third time..I was "Souled" - This is not my favourite "genre" of music by ANY stretch, and Yet...Well this is a pleasant exception.
