Small World
Jack Stauber Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh

Jumpstart
Fat heart
Pop tart
Anyways, it's
Streamlined good time
Oh my
Tip the brain I'm in!

Living in her forehead
Humming away!
Leaning in and falling
On anything!

The sky is coming down blue
And I'll hold it up with you

Listen
Pigpen
I am everything you ordered
No more
Drug store: mark your calendar!

Living in her forehead
Humming away!
Leaning in and falling
On anything!

The sky is coming down blue
And I'll hold it up with you

But there's always something
Something you can't leave alone

And it might bite you
Might fight you
Little bite, little fight
Little bite, little fight
Little bite, little fight
Little bite

Oh!

Living in her forehead
Humming away!
Leaning in and falling
On anything!

The sky is coming down blue
And I'll hold it up with you

Living in her forehead
Humming away!
Leaning in and falling
On anything!

The sky is coming down blue
And I'll hold it up...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Small World" by Jack Stauber seem to be somewhat surreal and difficult to decipher at first listen. However, upon closer examination, it is possible to come up with multiple interpretations. Perhaps the most obvious one is the idea of being caught up in a small world, a contained environment where everything is streamlined and efficient. The lyrics "jumpstart, fat heart, pop tart" could represent the idea of being fed a constant stream of instant gratification, leading to a sort of inertia in which it is hard to escape this small world.

The next part of the song is more difficult to interpret, but it may be about being trapped in someone else's mind or being unable to escape one's own thoughts and mental state. The lyrics "Living in her forehead, humming away" suggest this idea, with the person in question being stuck in their own head, humming to themselves. The lines "leaning in and falling on anything" may mean that this person is unstable and cannot find a firm grounding.

The song ends with the idea that there is always something that cannot be left alone, and that this something may ultimately harm you. The "little bite, little fight" refrain suggests that even small things can have a big impact, and that one should be careful to avoid trouble. Overall, the lyrics of "Small World" seem to paint a picture of a contained, insular world and the challenges that come along with it.

the song title Buttercup I think conveys the same meaning as the song "Build me up buttercup" A guy trying to work things out in relationship but to find himself being let down and disappointed, but since he cannot leave her little poison, "fine, electrify mine, electrify my golden tooth (maybe stands for something precious, i.e.: self, life). his way of taking on the challenge.

When he said forget it I will do it sometime he meant that he will try to talk to a female he likes. When he said Im locked up on the button he was to scared to talk to her and he freezes and cant you do it sometime he meant instead of going up and talking to the girl he wants the girl to talk to him. and pushed it in to far he meant that he tried his hardest to talk to her.
