I think Norm going on with the OJ jokes, when his boss didn't want him to, is one of the best and boldest things in comedy history. Not only was it hilarious, but it was the right thing to do, though most would not have done it. I have very mixed feelings on Norm and his attitude towards many parts of society, but god damn did he commit to his standings and I respect the hell out of him for it

And I’ll just say how unbelievably brave it was/is of Lorne Michaels to let his cast members like Norm just run with creative scripts like this. I mean that was and is really cool of him to let these talented people shine.
