Im tired of being stuck here with no way out.
I think its time for me to hit the road
Got a car with a full tank of gas yehh.
Its just my love i guess runnin low
[hook]
Just got out on the windy city
Gettin away from your love, baby
No more excuses im already on my way out
I know that you never change baby
[chorus]
Got to get outta here, far away from you
Now im going, cross country
Im not lookin back oh no
All the miles in my car are keep movin on (cross country)
Im gettin away, im gettin away, im gettin away (cross country)
Leavin it all behind, cant carry you and i (cross country)
[verse 2]
Im not expectin no traffic to make me slow down
Cuz with you i was always the last to come
Im livin my life the way i planned it
Without your baggage on the road
[hook]
Just got out on the windy city
Going through the desert
Gettin away from your love, baby
No more excuses im already on my way out
I know that you never change baby
[chorus]
Got to get outta here, far away from you
Now im going, cross country
Im not lookin back oh no
All the miles in my car are keep movin on (cross country)
Im gettin away, im gettin away, im gettin away (cross country)
Leavin it all behind, cant carry you and i (cross country)
[bridge]
Baby our love has ran its course
And i'd rather lose you than myself
[chorus]
Got to get outta here, far away from you
Now im going, cross country
Im not lookin back oh no
All the miles in my car are keep movin on (cross country)
Im gettin away, im gettin away, im gettin away (cross country)
Leavin it all behind, cant carry you and i (cross country)
[x2]
[ending]
Gotta get away.
Cross country.
"Cross Country" by Jackie Boyz tells a story of a person who decides to leave behind a relationship that has run its course. The singer is tired of being stuck without any way out and believes that it is time to hit the road. With a full tank of gas, the singer sets out on a cross-country journey to get away from their love. The hook conveys the message that there are no more excuses, and the person is already on their way out because the other person never changes. The chorus emphasizes the need to leave and move far away from the other person, without looking back. It is apparent that the singer is ready to leave everything behind, including the baggage of the past relationship. The bridge indicates that the singer has acknowledged that their love has run its course, and they would rather lose the other person than lose themselves.
The lyrics of this song tell a story that most people can relate to, especially those who have been in a relationship that was not working. The words convey a sense of determination, hope, and the desire for something new. They highlight the need to let go of oneself and move on in search of a better life. The song's simple lyrics and catchy chorus also make it easy for people to sing along to and feel the message.
