All of the Stars
Jackie Evancho Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

It′s just another night
And I'm staring at the moon
Saw a shooting star and thought of you
I sang a lullaby
By the water side and knew
If you were here, I′d sing to you
You're on the other side
As the skyline splits in two
I'm miles away from seeing you

I can see the stars
From America
I wonder, do you see them, too?

So open your eyes and see
The way our horizons meet
And all of the lights will lead
Into the night with me

And I know these scars will bleed
But both of our hearts believe
All of these stars will guide us home

I can hear your heart
On the radio beat
They′re playing "Chasing Cars"
And I thought of us
Back to the time
You were lying next to me
I looked across and fell in love
So I took your hand
Back through lands and streets I knew
Everything led back to you

So can you see the stars?
Over Amsterdam
You′re the song my heart is beating to

So open your eyes and see
The way our horizons meet
And all of the lights will lead
Into the night with me
And I know these scars will bleed
But both of our hearts believe
And all of these stars will guide us home

I know, oh-oh
I know, oh-oh-oh
I know, oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh

I can see the stars
From America

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Jackie Evancho's song "All of the Stars" depict a longing for connection and reunion with a loved one who is physically distant. The opening lines convey a sense of loneliness as the singer looks up at the moon, reminiscing about a shooting star and thinking of the person they miss. The mention of singing a lullaby by the water side suggests a sense of solace and comfort that the singer wishes they could provide to the person they are separated from. The sentiment of longing is further amplified as the singer realizes the physical distance between them, with the skyline splitting in two and the yearning to see the other person becoming even stronger.

The chorus of the song emphasizes the shared experiences and connection between the two individuals, despite their physical separation. The singer mentions seeing the stars from America and wondering if their loved one sees the same stars as well. It symbolizes a desire for unity and a reminder that even though they are apart, they are still connected by the beauty of the night sky. The lyrics urge the person on the other side to open their eyes and recognize the way their horizons would meet if they were together. It suggests that despite the challenges and scars they may face, their hearts still believe that the stars will guide them home to each other.

In the second verse, the singer reflects on a specific memory shared with their loved one, when they were lying next to each other and the song "Chasing Cars" played on the radio. This memory triggers a deep emotional connection, emphasizing the power of music to evoke strong feelings and memories. The singer took their loved one's hand and embarked on a journey through familiar lands and streets, ultimately realizing that everything leads back to this person, reinforcing the idea that they are meant to be together.

Overall, "All of the Stars" captures the longing, hope, and belief in a love that transcends physical distance. It acknowledges the challenges and scars that may arise, but it remains optimistic that the stars will guide the two individuals back to one another.

I like how Jackie showcases her ability to hit the high and low notes.  This isn't the best song out there but Jackie performs it very nicely.  Her voice is getting stronger and is as beautiful as ever and it's going to get better.  Imagine that.

@bruceh7211

+cere tomer Yes. She was asked in a recent interview if she's noticed changes in her voice over the years. Her reply, in effect, was that she has and now has more control over her voice and get hit the high and low notes better.

@ceretomer5987

bruceh7211 Let us hope that she continues to improve.  I would like to see her get as good as or better than the likes of Sissel or Sierra Boggess.

@GOD-bh8ff

she deserves more, her voice is like an angel

Kids the 5th richest self made teen in the world. If you mean more fame those who have to much of that are seldom happy about it. Jackie gets paid well and recognized on occasion. Kind of a nice place for Goldilocks to dwell.
