In 2009, Evancho independently released her debut album, "Prelude to a Dream". The album was released with just 4,000 printings. Because of digital success following her appearance on the fifth season of America's Got Talent, the album charted in the 121st position of the Billboard 200 albums, and the 2nd position of the Billboard Classical albums chart. Following a whirlwind of media coverage after her second place finish on the show, Evancho released her debut holiday EP, "O Holy Night", in November 2010. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums, and number one on the Billboard Classical albums, and later achieved Platinum status. Evancho is the youngest solo artist ever to go Platinum in the U.S.
In June 2011, Evancho's debut studio album, "Dream With Me", was released, and charted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums, and number one of the Billboard Classical albums. The album would later achieve "Gold" status, and sell in excess of 500,000 copies.
In late 2011, Evancho's sophomore album, "Heavenly Christmas", was released exclusively through American retailer Walmart. The album debuted at number one on the Classical album chart, becoming her fourth consecutive work to do so. It also debuted in the top 20 of the Billboard 200 albums.
Apocalypse

In this treacherous terrain
There's landslides and landmines
It's a jungle that we made
You're not the king of it no more
I'm not the girl that you'd die for
None of us is better than the other
None of us is better than the other
It draws blood
The sweet sting
But it's the poison that we know
I thank God you found me
And God knows how I'll let you go
Are we a kingdom worth saving
Is it a shadow I'm chasing?
I know I'll never see you in another
You know you'll never see me in another
To lose you, really lose you
I'm gonna have to lose myself
Gonna have to lose myself
No matter how long it'll hurt like this
White knuckle into the apocalypse
Gotta go crazy, crazy to lose you
Day flies, and night falls
I break out my artillery
I suit up for night crawls
I go out disguised as me
No matter how much I flaunt it
I can't go home 'cause it's haunted
I don't know if my heart can still afford this
Sleeping in a bed that was our fortress
To lose you, really lose you
I'm gonna have to lose myself
Gonna have to lose myself
No matter how long it'll hurt like this
White knuckle into the apocalypse
Gotta go crazy, crazy to lose you
Used to love listening to sad songs
I'd trace my fingers all along
The silver linings
Now I don't listen to sad songs
since my old world's blowing up behind me
It's all for good
A better world will find me
To lose you, really lose you
I'm gonna have to lose myself
Gonna have to lose myself
No matter how long it'll hurt like this
White knuckle into the apocalypse
Gotta go crazy, crazy to lose you
No matter how long it'll hurt like this
White knuckle into the apocalypse
Gotta go crazy, crazy to lose you
The lyrics of Jackie Evancho's "Apocalypse" seemingly talk about the end of a relationship, the struggle to let go of someone you loved, and the pain that comes with it. The song highlights the challenges of moving forward, acknowledging the toxicity of the past, all while craving for something different. The first verse of the song suggests that the relationship was filled with a lot of difficult moments, including obstacles such as landslides and landmines. It also implies that both parties were once deeply invested in the relationship, but now their emotions have changed, and they are no longer the people they once were. The chorus goes on to query whether the relationship is worth fighting for or is it something that the singer is simply chasing a shadow.
The second verse delves deeper into the singer's emotions. The singer admits that they have to lose themselves before they lose their beloved - signifying that it is difficult separating oneself from someone with whom they have shared a lot of memories. The singer highlights how it hurts to imagine life without the person they have lost, but they have no choice than to deal with the pain. In the bridge, Jackie Evancho exposes how she usually turns to sad songs in difficult moments, but now she has learned to let go of that past and hope for a brighter future.
