Jacks of All Trades … Read Full Bio ↴Jacks of All Trades was a Finnish rapcore act.
Jacks of All Trades started in early fall 1997, by efforts of guitarist Lary Launonen who desired to gather around him a band which would play groovy and aggressive hardcore filled with pure energy. After the right guys were found for the job - Tuomas Rajala - drums / Tomi Lehto - bass - they started to work on their music which already in the beginning seemed to have great possibilities to succeed in every hard music scene. Band worked out nice as a trio, but after some time of playing bit punk-influenced shout-based hardcore, they wanted to move on to more modern way of their scene, so they asked for J-Blast to join the band in the beginning of year 1998 and after few shows he was a permanent member of the band. Their music came known as rapcore after this improving change in the line-up. The bassist Tomi left the band to work elsewhere and Jorma Rantalainen joined Jacks in January 2000. Jacks are originally from Jyväskylä, Finland and it is still consired as their home city even though most band members live now in Helsinki.
In December 2001, Jacks of All Trades signed a record deal with Warner Music Finland. This deal was a long waited dream come true for Jacks. First single from new album was released on in the beginning of April 2002. Name of this song is Blacklist of No Good and Jacks shot a video of this song in February 2002. Release of the new album took place on 31st of May 2002.
In the summer of 2002, the same time when superior had finally found it's way to your local record store, the Jacks were facing their biggest change ever. J-Blast noticed that he was no more able to continue in the band. He felt he needed to give more time to his family and finish his studies in the university. This announcement was hard to make to all our fans and it shook the foundations of the band heavily. And now all the remaining band members light candles next to J-Blast's photo every evening. The Jacks played their last gig with J-Blast in October 2002.
After some demo recordings with a new singer, which didn't result in a new rise, the band went to a hiatus. They did some gigs in the course of 2003 to 2005. At this point the members of Jacks of All Trades felt that the band had run its course and decided to end the band. They did a few farewell shows in the spring of 2006 with J-Blast returning to do the vocals and finally the last show at OHM Fest 2006 in Keuruu, Finland.
Since Jacks broke up, Lary has continued to play music with Frail as a guitarist and Jorma as Deep Insight's bassist.

All Hope Is Gone
Jacks Of All Trades Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I will give you the words put this rhyme inside
Your heart let it dwell make it swell then tell
Everybody around you to boycott hell
Give you the words to put you back on focus
Make you forget about hocus pocus
Just open your mouth let the holy ghost in
from north to the south get rid of your sin
I don't wanna see you taken
(I don't wanna be here faking)
Outta my soul
Hope is gone without you
My hope is gone without you
Hope is gone without you
All hope is gone
Close your eyes imagine your soul
Taken out from its place thrown in a black hole
Then everything around you turns into a disaster
Just like Bruce Willis you're left on the asteroid
All by yourself push the button go to hell
For all eternity that's where you'll dwell
You should've thought it a long time ago
Now God is taken out and to darkness you go
The lyrics of "All Hope Is Gone" by Jacks of All Trades are a call to action for people who have lost hope and faith in themselves. The singer promises to help revive their lost spirits by giving them the words to put things back into focus. According to the lyrics, he is not a "soul assassin," but rather, he is someone who can bring your soul back to life. The song suggests that by allowing the Holy Ghost in, a person can get rid of their sins and find hope again.
The song has a clear message of redemption, urging people to make positive changes before it's too late. The imagery of imagining one's soul being thrown into a black hole emphasizes the urgency of the message. The songwriters are calling for people to take control of their lives and avoid descending into darkness. The chorus emphasizes the importance of hope and the powerful effect it has on the human soul. The song ends on a somber note, implying that without hope, all is lost.
