I'm a victim of passion
You don't know what I've been through
And I'm fallin', fallin' down
So deep that I can't breathe
Well I'm a slave to attraction
I run from the mirror
Because every time I look at you
I can't turn my back on you
I get twisted
I'm scared of what you make me do
I get twisted
I can't eat and I can't sleep
It's a dance of disaster
I'm falling over my own feet
And I'm crying, crying out
24/7 for your beautiful torture
100 miles an hour down a dead end street
And every time I look at you
I get twisted
I can't turn my back on you
I get twisted
I'm scared of what you make me do
I get twisted
Black and blue
Broken in two
I'm a victim of passion
You don't know what I've been through
And I'm fallin', fallin' down
So deep that I can't breathe
Well I'm a slave to attraction
I run from the mirror
Because every time I look at you
I get twisted
I can't turn my back on you
I get twisted
I'm scared of what you make me do
I get twisted
I can't turn my back on you
I get twisted
I'm scared of what you make me do
I get twisted
In Jacob Young's song "Twisted," the singer is expressing their intense feelings of attraction towards an individual, which are causing them to behave and feel in ways they don't fully understand. The lyrics "I'm a victim of passion" and "I'm a slave to attraction" illustrate how the singer feels powerless to resist this person that is both enticing and frightening. The lines "I can't eat and I can't sleep / It's a dance of disaster / I'm falling over my own feet" demonstrate how their attraction has become all-consuming, causing them to lose balance and control in their life.
The chorus, which repeats throughout the song, captures the conflicting emotions that the singer feels towards this individual. They are both drawn to them, unable to turn their back, yet also scared of the power that this person holds over them. The line "24/7 for your beautiful torture" indicates that the relationship has a dark, dangerous quality to it, and that the singer is aware of this but unable to stop it.
Overall, "Twisted" is a powerful expression of the intensity and complexity of human attraction, and how it can cause us to lose sight of ourselves and our own well-being.
