Eternity
Jacoo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You are the eternal thing that comes and goes
And that furthermore this galaxy is a function
Of all other galaxies
And that vast thing that you see far off, far off, far off
With telescopes and look and look and look
One day you're going to wake up and say
"Why, that's me!"
And in knowing that you'll see that you never die
You are the eternal thing that comes and goes
And that furthermore this galaxy is a function
Of all other galaxies
And that vast thing that you see far off, far off, far off
With telescopes and look and look and look
One day you're going to wake up and say

"Why, that's me!"
And in knowing that you'll see that you never die

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Jacoo's song "Eternity" express a deep and profound philosophy about the human existence and our relationship with the universe. The song begins with the repetition of the phrase "You are the eternal thing that comes and goes," which suggests that we are not just temporary beings in this world, but rather an essential part of the cosmic existence that transcends time and space. The next phrase, "And that furthermore this galaxy is a function of all other galaxies," emphasizes the interconnectedness and interdependence of all things in the universe. It suggests that the existence of one galaxy is connected to and influenced by the existence of all other galaxies, creating a complex and intricate network of cosmic phenomena.

The following lines further emphasize the vastness and complexity of the universe, with a reference to looking through telescopes and discovering the far-off reaches of space. The lyrics then take a dramatic turn as they suggest that one day we will look through a telescope and realize that the vast thing we are seeing is actually ourselves. This realization represents a profound moment of self-discovery, as we come to understand that our existence is intimately connected with and influenced by the vastness of the universe. The final line, "And in knowing that you'll see that you never die," suggests that this self-discovery leads to a sense of eternal life and a deeper understanding of our place in the universe.

Overall, "Eternity" expresses a deep spiritual and philosophical message about the nature of existence and our relationship with the universe. It suggests that our existence is not limited to the physical realm but extends beyond time and space, and that we are intimately connected with and influenced by the vast cosmic phenomena around us.

Listening to Jacoo's music, I've actually become more relaxed and more patient. His music is quite therapeutic. I listen to a lot of dubstep, hiphop, rap, pop, and so on but I can actually do homework to Jacoo's music without losing my train of thought because of how settle and comforting his music is. Love the work dude! Keep it up! You are far too underrated.
