By the age of twelve, Jadakiss was a freestyle rapper, engaging in competitions. He and some of his friends were given the opportunity to compete in the "Jack the Rapper Competition" in Florida, where Jadakiss was noticed for his battle rap ability. He met Dee and Wah of the Ruff Ryders (then a management company), and began hanging out and battling outside of the Ruff Ryders' studio where artists like DMX made their first hits.
Jadakiss founded the rap group the Warlox in 1994 with friends Jamaal, Sheek Louch, and Styles P. They later signed to Bad Boy Entertainment, where it was suggested that they change their name simply to "The LOX", which came to stand for Living Off eXperience. They made their first appearance on The Main Source's 1994 LP "Fuck What You Think" on the track "Set it Off".
The group, especially Jadakiss, developed a close relationship with The Notorious B.I.G., during which time Jadakiss was taken under Biggie's wing. The LOX's first multi-platinum hit was the tribute to Biggie called "We'll Always Love Big Poppa" (the B-side to Puff Daddy's "I'll Be Missing You") in 1997. In 1998, the LOX released Money, Power, Respect. Following this album, they left Bad Boy Records.
Jada's debut solo album, Kiss the Game Goodbye, was released in August 2001 under the Ruff Ryders/Interscope label. The album featured popular guests and producers such as Snoop Dogg and Swizz Beatz, but was written off as repetitive and uninspired. Jadakiss has acknowledged the criticism as, generally speaking, valid, saying the record was done less out of inspiration and more out of contract obligations to Bad Boy. The album produced the single "Put Ya Hands Up" with the chorus "Put ya hands up/nah, f**k that/ Put ya hands down" reflecting Jada's distance from the album.
Jadakiss' second album, Kiss of Death, was released in June 2004. Prior to the release, his fans were polled, and most claimed the rapper wasn't personal enough in his lyrical stylings.[citation needed] As a result, Jadakiss released the song, "Why?", which bared his innermost thoughts,[citation needed] and it became one of the biggest hits of that year, spawning a remix featuring Styles P, Common, Nas, and Anthony Hamilton. It remains as his biggest hit, peaking at #11 on the Hot 100. Another single from the record, "You Make Me Wanna" featured Mariah Carey and was a much more commercially driven love song. Kiss of Death did not reflect the popularity of its lead single, but it was better-received than his first effort, eventually achieving platinum-selling status.
Recently, in late 2007, Jadakiss signed to Jay-Z's Roc-a-Fella Records, a move Jay had been trying to arrange for a long period of time. He reportedly will have an as-yet-untitled album on Roc-a-Fella in 2008, executive produced by both Jay-Z and the Ruff Ryders CEOs/management team of Dee and Wah. The move comes on the heels of increased D-Block/Roc-a-Fella collaborations; in 2006, Kiss and former rival Beanie Sigel collaborated on DJ Khaled's album Listen..., and in 2007, on Freeway's album Free At Last, while Styles P has appeared on a radio freestyle with Freeway and Sigel. He has also appeared briefly in Jay-Z's latest video for his American Gangster second single, Roc Boys, in which he appears throwing up the famous Roc-a-Fella sign, "the Diamond."
On May 26th 2008, The New York Post reported in its Page Six section that Jadakiss has signed on to play a gang leader in Russell Costanzo's provocative movie-directing debut, "The Tested"

Yes sir !
I don?t care who you are
I don?t care what you do
There comes a time (uh huh)
Everybody?s life (yup!)
When?
You just gotta tell a motha fucka
Chorus:
Yo, If you blatantly hatin' and waitin on my downfall
Then just be patient, and kiss my ass!
If you didn't believe and you had a problem
With my previous l.p's, then kiss my ass!
If you downright spoiled and feel I don't do enough for you,
That's right, kiss my ass !
Pop off when you see me, keep it movin or breathe easy
Whateva, kiss my ass!
Verse 1:
Yo everybody love him
Every body know him
He gettin money now
Everybody think he owe em?
They stay askin him for weed plants like he grow em'
They know if he catch em? violatin he'll blow em?
Always wanna know what he doin where he goin
What chain was he wearin, what he drivin ,was he glowin?
Who givin him head, who he hittin, who he go wit
Who you seen him in the mall, or creepin out the mo? wit?
Roc-a-fella, def jam, the right label to go wit
And when the album drops, are they really gon promote it?
Is L.A behind the project and are you focused?
I just smile and ask them back, why you wanna know this?
Everybody got they hands out, here we go again
You ain't buy none of his albums, you downloaded them
He ain't got no security, the pound?s holdin him
And if he never told you before, you now know it then
Chorus:
If you blatantly hatin' and waitin on my downfall
Then just be patient, and kiss my ass!
If you didn't believe and you had a problem
With my previous l.p's, then kiss my ass!
If you downright spoiled and feel I don't do enough for you,
That's right, kiss my ass !
Pop off when you see me, keep it movin or breathe easy
Whateva, kiss my ass!
Verse 2:
I don?t care about your hair or your nails
I ain't got no bails and no lawyers for niggas that caught sales
I don?t care about your rent or your mortgage or the cocaine shortage
Or how many times you been distorted
And I ain't got a dime for the limo, for your prom, betta get it from your mom
Or get up on ya grind
I don?t wanna hear the garbage about how you need your car fixed
Or money to get back and forth to the doctors
Don?t try to seduce me 'cause I ain't got a quarter for a Lucy
Just give me a dap or salufe me I don?t wanna hear the sorrow I ain't got nothin to borrow
I?m goin on tour so I won't see you tomorrow
I don?t care about the drought, or how much the price change
What you almost did with the bank, at the dice game
And I?m sorry if I forgot, to tell you how I felt but I really mean it a lot
Verse 3:
Yo you outside standin around, front of the club
Coulda been went inside, it only cost you a dub
What you tryna wait on me to get in free
Only thing is we ain't spoke since 2003
So I act like I don?t know you when I see you in the town tomorrow I gotta blow you
This is what I go through
Now I got a lawsuit and you got a velour suit
Some bullshit jewelry from canal and a 04 coupe
The car coulda been better, for that to be the case
The scar woulda been better
Screw a vendetta, you show it you betta pull it
But since you tryna count my money then count bullets
Soon as you allow it instantly you become a liability to cowards
Cheaper to send them flowers
By now you should know it, this is how I feel and how I?ve always felt
Even though I don?t show it
In "Kiss My Ass," Jadakiss and Cam'ron give a candid response to the scrutiny and envy they face as successful rappers. The underlying message of the song is that they refuse to let the negativity and jealousy of others bring them down or distract them from their hard-earned success. The chorus emphasizes this stance, with the repeated refrain to essentially, 'kiss my ass' if you have a problem with me.
In the verses, Jadakiss delves deeper into some of the particular issues he encounters. He references the constant demands of others and the gossip that follows him, particularly about his personal life and relationships. He also addresses the entitled mindset of some fans and the feeling that he owes them something beyond his music. Additionally, he touches on the various requests for monetary assistance that he receives from acquaintances and old friends. Ultimately, Jadakiss asserts that he will not let these distractions affect his path or bring him down, as he focuses on his music and his goals.
