Villalon was born in San Diego, California to a Filipino father and an American born mother of German and Irish descent. She was raised in Japan from the age of three, but spent the majority of her childhood and teens in San Diego. She moved to Los Angeles, California when she was eighteen.
Villalon first entered the music world when she joined the band Gemstone along with Christina Vidal and Crystal Grant. After Gemstone broke up, at the age of eighteen, she entered the pop project/group Sweetbox, and became a star.
She is perhaps best known in the western world by video game players as the singer for the English release of Final Fantasy X-2. She was the vocalist for the songs "Real Emotion" and "1000 Words". (Kumi Koda was the singer for the Japanese version of the game).
Her music with Sweetbox is most famous in Asia, although her lyrics are entirely in English. She is also famous in the eastern world for contributing two songs, "World Without Frontiers" and "Addicted", to various Subaru Automobile commercials (the former song was included on her Adagio album under the title "Hate Without Frontiers"). Her music has also been featured in other popular commercials, including a commercial for Coca-Cola. In Korea, she is also well known for her Christmas Eve and New Years concerts. She also released a cover of "A Whole New World" on the Asian release of a Disney soundtrack called "DisneyMania!".
As of September 4th 2007, it had been made public that Jade has quit Sweetbox. She started her solo career, along with Geo, under the name Jade Valerie, and has released 2 albums. She has also started a project entitled Eternity∞ with a selt titled album described as "pop meets classical".

This song is one of those that brought back memories of my playing ff games for my mom, when she still lived...This was my second favorite lyriced FF song, my fave is My hands by Leona Lewis, FFXIII endgame theme. The Lyriced pieces started with Final Fantasy VII and went through to XV, I believe.... XII had choral and other, X had 2 vocal pieces....Otherworld (My preference is Otherworld by Black Mages ft Nobuo Uematsu.) and the love theme, Suteki Da Ne, by Rikki.
