Jaffe Sarah Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Fifty states
Fifty lines
Fifty, 'Crying all the times'
Fifty boys
Fifty lies
Fifty, 'I'm gonna change my mind's'
I changed my mind
I changed my mind
Now I feel indifferent

We were young
We were young
We were young we didn't care
Is it gone
Is it gone
Is it floating in the air?
I changed my mind
I changed my mind
Now I feel indifferent

All that time, wasted
I wish I was a little more delicate
I wish my
I wish my
I wish my
I wish my
I wish my name was Clementine

Fifty states
Fifty lines
Fifty, 'Crying all the times'
Fifty boys
Fifty lies
Fifty, 'I'm gonna change my mind's'
I changed my mind
I changed my mind
Now I feel indifferent

We were young
We were young
We were young we didn't care
Is it gone
It's gone
Oh, it's floating in the air
I changed my mind
I changed my mind
Now I feel indifferent

All that time, wasted
I wish I was a little more delicate
I wish my
I wish my
I wish my
I wish my
I wish my name was Clementine

Oh all that time, wasted
I wish I was a little more delicate
I wish my
I wish my
I wish my

I wish my
I wish my name was Clementine

Overall Meaning

Jaffe Sarah's song "Clementine" depicts themes of growing up and realizing that things that once mattered no longer hold the same emotional weight. The song's repeated verses of "Fifty states, Fifty lines, Fifty, 'Crying all the times', Fifty boys, Fifty lies, Fifty, 'I'm gonna change my mind's" speaks to the idea of constantly changing and evolving - the fifty different states and fifty different lines represent the many different paths and choices we make in life. The repeated line "I changed my mind, now I feel indifferent" emphasizes the idea of apathy and detachment, suggesting that the singer has come to terms with the fact that life's changes are inevitable and there is no use dwelling on the past.

The lyric "All that time, wasted, I wish I was a little more delicate" suggests regret for the way the singer has handled their life thus far. The imagery of fragility and delicacy implies a desire to have been more cautious and gentle in their approach. The repeated refrain of "I wish my name was Clementine" hints at the idea of wanting to be someone else, perhaps someone who is less affected by the world's changes and who is more content with their current state of being.

Overall, "Clementine" portrays a melancholic yet reflective mood, with a bittersweet realization that growing up means letting go and embracing the new.

I am crying so bad, I used to hear this song when I was 14 now I'm 21 and years past so fast, people come and goes, friends, lovers even family leaves and everything changes, don’t waste any minute go outside and live, do what you love no matter what, this is your only chance. Live, Love and Laugh.

@Abbey_Senna

Hey love, how's life?
Btw, that live, love, life, is just a market.
Life is fleeting, enjoy the pain, and learn from it.
That's how you learn and move forward.
Remember, you, are loved.

@spudone1000

@@Abbey_Senna I woke up not very long ago and discovered I made it living to 62 , And yes it went by Quickly .
You have a lot of living to do . Take your time and pick your loves carefully. There is nothing better than a GOOD LOVE and nothing Worse than a BAD ONE !!!

@Abbey_Senna

@@spudone1000 Goodness!

Well, somewhat, 28 going 29 but 25 for life!
I love this, stay safe love.
I don't think I'll reach that age, so, thank you!
God bless

38yr old dad here, my 6yr old daughter and I love this song. We do a lot of things together with this in the background. Smth magical about this one.

@clemenswagner5186

The fact that you cannot really tell whether she says "feeling different" or "feel indifferent" makes this hit even harder.

@Beanhero50

I disagree, I can clearly hear her say, “now I feel indifferent”

You never hear the “M” pronounced after she says I. Likewise if she did you woulda heard the “G” in feeling

@bastoulamenace

guys, the lyrics are in the description, it's "feeling different"
