Soon after the release of their first album, El Equilibrio de los Jaguares, José Manuel dropped out of the band and Federico Fong took a break from the band, relatedly, as well. Saúl and Alfonso looked for a person who could replace José Manuel. After a period of time, Saúl found the perfect replacement, César López Garcia, most famously known as "El Vampiro" (During Saúl's time in Caifanes he once called "El Vampiro" to invite him to Caifanes, but his invitation was declined, because "El Vampiro" felt in a good position; He was in Azul Violeta during this time. He was also a member of Maná from 1991-1994.) The look for a guitarist was over, but the search for a bassist was still remaining. Sabo Romo, the ex-bassist of Caifanes, was invited to join Jaguares and he accepted. Saúl added one more musician to Jaguares, Jarris Margalli; Jarris did keyboards and samplers.
After the release of their second album, Sabo took a break from the band and Jarris was fired from the band, because Saúl and Alfonso didn't need him in the band, since he was only doing small things in songs that were basically, needless. Jaguares got their name from one of Saúl's dreams. He dreamt that he was singing in a jaguar's mouth.
In 2007, Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur was released. It is a compilation album of various artists covering songs of John Lennon to benefit Amnesty International's campaign to alleviate the crisis in Darfur. In it Jaguares cover the protest song "Gimme Some Truth" from Lennon's 1971 album Imagine.

Contigo
Jaguares Lyrics

Construyendo un camino eterno
Que llegue a tu puerta
Que me abra la mente
Voy descubriendo un mundo al revés
Donde tu risa es lo más sagrado
Tu ser es mi ausencia
Tú que construyes alrededor
Conviérteme en otra sombra
Por si estas sola siempre
Esté a tu lado
Si contigo regreso al mundo
Si contigo respiro en el agua
Si contigo me rio del mundo
Si por ti respiro en el humo
Voy caminando donde no hay razón
Donde la logica se vuelve eterea
Es otro mundo
Tu propio mundo
Iré junto a ti hasta el final
Por si los cielos se evaporan
Te abrazo a mi pecho
Why te sigo en tus sueños
Si contigo regreso al mundo
Si contigo respiro en el agua
Si contigo me rio del mundo
Si por ti respiro en el humo
The lyrics of Jaguares' song "Contigo" talk about going on a journey to find someone special. The singer is walking where there is no signal, suggesting that they are going off the grid, leaving behind the noise of the modern world in search of something more meaningful. The journey is a metaphor for the path to finding the person they love, and is described as an eternal path, symbolizing the persistence needed to achieve this goal. The singer is constructing this path himself, suggesting that they are taking control of their own fate and doing what it takes to reach their love's door.
The song continues to describe this journey, with the singer discovering a world that is upside down and where logic doesn't apply. The love they have found is the only constant in this world, something that they treasure and hold sacred. They are willing to follow their love wherever it takes them, even if it means becoming a shadow to support them.
In the chorus, the singer proclaims that they can only exist with their love. They are willing to brave any challenge, including returning to the world with them, breathing underwater together, laughing at the world's absurdities, or even inhaling smoke for them.
Overall, "Contigo" is a passionate love letter to finding someone who is worth going on an epic journey for, someone who is a beacon of light in a world that is confusing and disorienting.
