Jah Child Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yeah, if you want it I got it ya need it baby
Yeah, its Warren G beeyatch

[Jah Skills]
(Jah Skills will just speak)
As I enter the G-Funk Era
(tell me why you tweak)
Well I don't know why however
My mind is throbbing

I went bobbing for snapple
Mixed with E

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Jah Child's song "No No" speak to a larger societal issue of drug addiction and the struggles that come with it. The rap begins with an offer of drugs, suggesting that the singer has access to them and is willing to provide them to others. The line "if you want it I got it ya need it baby" highlights the desperation that often comes with addiction, as people turn to drugs as a way to cope with their problems.

The next line, "its Warren G beeyatch," refers to the famous rapper Warren G and the G-Funk Era in which he was prominent. This points to the fact that drug use has long been associated with certain music scenes and cultures.

In the next verse, Jah Skills speaks directly about his own struggles with addiction, saying that he doesn't know why his mind is "throbbing." He also mentions that he went "bobbing for snapple," which suggests he was looking for a way to satisfy his cravings without using drugs. However, even snapple was not enough and he ended up mixing it with E, a common street name for ecstasy.

Yes Natural!! Beautiful drumming. I can recall the massive excitement when system dropped this tune on the ol' wardrobe size sound boxes in the golden age of reggae sound systems 1966-78.
I've not heard anything like then recently, 20 years gone by.
"Kna wha mean??"
I usedto think those systems would be around forever, because they seemed indestructible! But now it's like they've died out to a great extent.πŸ€”πŸ€¨πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺ
