As a child Jahcoustix spent many years in Mexico, Liberia and New York before moving to Kenya and Egypt. In Kenya he spent his free time wandering through the downtown streets of Nairobi, where he would get his first contacts to Rastafarians and to reggae Music. Bands like Israel Vibration, Bob Marley, Burning Spear and Culture would later have a great impact on his world view. Inspired by the spiritual background as well as the humanistic and mankind-embracing aspects of the Rasta culture Jahcoustix writes his first poems, starts playing guitar and goes in depth with the Rasta philosophy.

cause then it don't come
go your ways like everyday
and don't change direction
don't wait for that day
cause then it don't come
in tlivie when ya heart a heavy load
you want princess fe come
When I look into your eyes
I will know right from the beginning
that it must be love at first sight
Don't ask me how me do
when you look into my eyes
my heart is broken in two
princess in my life
I'll wait for that day
when she cross my sight and way
Jah sign will shine
the right moment the right time
The first verse of Jahcoustix's Love at First Sight seems to be conveying a simple message - don't wait for that special day or moment, because it may never come. The idea is to keep going just like any other day, without changing your direction or purpose. The singer says that waiting for that day will only lead to disappointment, especially when the heart is heavy with a load. Instead, the singer suggests that if you want a princess to come into your life, you need to keep going with your daily routine while being open to love.
The second part of the song focuses more on the idea of love at first sight. The singer describes how when he looks into the eyes of his princess, he just knows that it is love at first sight. He exhorts his listeners not to ask how he knows or what he did to make it happen, because his heart is already shattered into two pieces. The song ends with the singer saying that he will wait for the right moment and the right time, when Jah's sign will shine, and his princess will cross his sight and way.
Overall, Love at First Sight appears to be a simple love song, emphasizing the importance of being open to love, even if it comes unexpectedly, without warning. It encourages listeners to pursue love in their daily lives and trust that the right person will come along.
