I agree giulianasweet. I'm not a music engineer, but what I hear is Jahmene's voice with some echoing added to it, and some voice overs using his own voice as the background sound to his main vocals - Stevie Nicks did that a lot on her recordings, and that is not auto tune either, but you can't duplicate it in a live performance. When I think of "autotune" I think of adding electronic sounds, changing the pitch of notes that might be flat or not so pitch perfect (which he definitely does NOT need), & altogether adding mechanical sounds to either enhance the sound or cover up imperfections. Maybe they music director did too much with it that wasn't needed, and that's why to some people it didn't feel quite real enough like a live performance, but if you listen to anyone's studio recordings, they are always going to sound different than when heard live. Sometimes better, and sometimes not as good as when played live, since the artist can adlib live, change things up and put in instrumental solos.....of course this is just my perspective.
