Jakob grew up in Alingsås, where he was also a classmate with the artist Moa Lignell. He has been involved with music since childhood and participated in talent competitions such as Musik Direkt 2009, GP Scen 2010 and Idol 2011. From 2009 he played a few years in the rockabilly band Sixten and the Cupcakes from Alingsås, after which he in 2013–2015 attended the music education Musikmakarna.

After he got a contract with Sony Music, his debut single "Fan va bra" (April 2015) became the year's "Summer Torment" in 2015 and led to four times platinum record and participation in a variety of contexts such as Allsång på Skansen, Lotta på Liseberg and more, where he also performed the sequel single "Fel på dig". In the autumn of 2015, he toured in Sweden. He has also gained a large following with his covers of famous songs on Youtube.
