Can You Feel It
Jam & Spoon Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Never knew a love like this
Never knew a sweeter kiss
Never knew that look that's in your eyes
Baby I can hardly wait
Now we're in the hands of fate
This is a love that we can't disguise
I can't be dreaming
My mind is teeming
To think of heave we'll explore
I try pretending
Tonight's not ending
It only makes me want you more
Can you feel it?
How I want to love you
Can you feel it?
Oh, oh, oh
Can you feel it?
How I'm thinking of you
Can you feel it?
Girl, if we can talk all night
Maybe I'll explain this right
But I know words are not enough
I want to show to you
That every word is true
You know the proof is in my love
I can't be dreaming
My mind is teeming
To think of heave we'll explore
I try pretending
Tonight's not ending
It only makes me want you more
Can you feel it?
How I want to love you
Can you feel it?
Oh, oh, oh
Can you feel it?
How I'm thinking of you
Can you feel it?
Can this be perfect love
It sure feels strong enough
Girl what I feel inside
Is lighting up my world tonight
Can you feel it?
How I want to love you
Can you feel it?
Oh, oh, oh
Can you feel it?

How I'm thinking of you
Can you feel it?

@@Trisma I'm not going to argue that there was not any genre mixing going on back in the day, that would be very stupid of me to do.

That said, I will stand by what I said that this one does not have any hardcore or happy hardcore vibes in it at all, and is just hard trance/acid trance. If anything one could say it is makina-like.

Maybe I am too rigid with my headcanon for the genres, and I do not stand opposed to be corrected, but this one seems a bit too clear-cut for me.

Also, in regards to the stuff you provided, I see it like so:

Q-Tex - Get On The Floor -> hardcore/gabber (maybe there is the slightest hint of 'happy' in there, but it is really slim)
Mandala - Astralia -> pure hard trance/acid trance, I'm intrigued where you see happy hardcore in this one
Doug Laurent - I'm Rushin' (Stakkato Mix) - hard trance in its more commercial outing with a touch of house in the beat
Active Force - Head Like a Pac Man -> probably closest to early happy hardcore, though I would still go with gabber if asked on the spot

Just to make sure, no disrespect is meant by this comment/response, just sharing my view.

Nice high energy old school Hard Trancer from Jam & Spoon which featured on the B-Side to 'Angel (Ladadi O-Heyo)' back in 1995.

"Can you FEEL IT"

Bit of a wobbly record to go with those wobbly acids 😀

@stewarty28

Raindrops by Hitch hiker & Dumont mixes great into this.

This was one of my all time favorites in teenage when it came, still is absolute killer of a song.

The quality of the production with Jam & Spoon is just exquisite. Even if you come across a tune of theirs you don't like, you just can't deny that its polished to absolute perfection. I do happen to love this tune, though :)

@dungeonseeker3087

This track has elements in that wouldn't become a normal part of trance until years later, the high energy hollow kick, acid synth and breaky percussion sounds more like something from later Nostrum or Scot Project than a 95 track.

@kath1626

I'm so glad I got be around when this happened. I still have so many Jam & Spoon Maxi Cds and albums at home. Mark Spoon, gone but not forgotten. ❤
