Afterwards she retired (temporarily) from music business to give birth to a baby girl in March 2001. While bringing up her daughter Teja, Jamelia made plans for a comeback and in 2003 her sophomore album Thank You was released. The album went top 5 in the UK and sold over half a million copies. It featured her fifth top 40 hit, "Superstar", a cover of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, which gave her international success in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The single shot to #1 in Australia and was certified "platinum". Follow up single โThank Youโ went to number 2 in the UK and the track โSee It In A Boyโs Eyesโ which was co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also entered the top 5.
That year Jamelia won a record breaking three MOBO awards, winning all of the awards that she was nominated for and she was also one of the nominees for the Mercury Music Prize which celebrates the best of British music.
In the autumn of 2004 she also was asked to contribute to the Band Aid 20 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?". She had a big role in the song, singing with fellow British singer Will Young. She also recorded the theme song for the second Bridget Jones movie, a cover of Sam Brownโs song โStopโ. Like her previous songs this also went top 10.
Her third album, "Walk With Me" is out in the shops now, and features the hit singles "Something About You" and "Beware Of The Dog", which samples 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode.

Right back inside my head
And I'd say it was a real success
Cause now you're lying here in my bed
I checked your messages
Believe me, every woman does this
Now I'm pickin' up my heart of off the floor
I ain't gonna do this no more
How could you hurt me like this
You said you loved me
I'm so much better than this
So you got to go
Get up, get out
Take your sh**, get outta my house
A million apologies later
You f***in' do it again
Get up, get out
Boy I tell you to turn around
A million apologies later
You f***in' do it again
Ah, ah, ah-ah
Ah, ah, ah-ah
Ah, ah, ah-ah
You f**in' do it again
My god, what a fool I've been
How could I not have seen
That you are a lyin' cheatin' lovetaker
Stupid motherf***in' heartbreaker
First time was bad enough
But I believed you when you said it was doneNow I'm pickin' up my heart of off the floor
I ain't gonna do this no more
How could you hurt me like this
You said you loved me
I'm so much better than this
So you got to go
Get up, get out
Take your sh**, get outta my house
A million apologies later
You f***in' do it again
Get up, get out
Boy I tell you to turn around
A million apologies later
You f***in' do it again
Ah, ah, ah-ah
Ah, ah, ah-ah
Ah, ah, ah-ah
You f***in' do it again
And so the curtain closes on this fine done mess
I can't believe I believed I gave you a chance
I will not let this become the story of my life
I still have hopes and dreams without you by my side
By my side
Get up
Get up, get out
Take your sh**, get outta my house
A million apologies later
You f***in' do it again
Get up, get out
Boy I tell you to turn around
A million apologies later
You f***in' do it again
Get up, get out
Take your sh**, get outta my house
A million apologies later
You f***in' do it again
Get up, get out
Boy I tell you to turn around
A million apologies later
You f***in' do it again
Ah, ah, ah-ah
Ah, ah, ah-ah
Ah, ah, ah-ah
You f***in' do it again
Yeah
Oh, get up, get up
You f***in' did it again
The lyrics of Jamelia's "Get Up Get Out" are centered around a woman who is fed up with her partner's constant cheating and lies. The song details her attempts to move on from the relationship and take back control of her life. She begins by acknowledging that her partner has been successful in getting back into her head and ultimately, into her bed. However, after discovering his messages, she decides to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and move on from the relationship. She realizes that she deserves better than to be hurt repeatedly and refuses to subject herself to the same pain again, no matter how many apologies come her way.
The chorus of the song is a strong statement of independence and empowerment. The woman tells her partner to "get up, get out" and take his things out of her house. Even after numerous apologies, she refuses to forgive him and allow him to hurt her again. The song ends with an uplifting declaration of the woman's determination to live her life without her partner, despite her broken heart.
This song is a powerful representation of the importance of self-respect and the ability to let go of toxic relationships. It highlights the fact that it is never too late to start over and find happiness, even after experiencing heartbreak.
