Afterwards she retired (temporarily) from music business to give birth to a baby girl in March 2001. While bringing up her daughter Teja, Jamelia made plans for a comeback and in 2003 her sophomore album Thank You was released. The album went top 5 in the UK and sold over half a million copies. It featured her fifth top 40 hit, "Superstar", a cover of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, which gave her international success in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The single shot to #1 in Australia and was certified "platinum". Follow up single “Thank You” went to number 2 in the UK and the track “See It In A Boy’s Eyes” which was co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also entered the top 5.
That year Jamelia won a record breaking three MOBO awards, winning all of the awards that she was nominated for and she was also one of the nominees for the Mercury Music Prize which celebrates the best of British music.
In the autumn of 2004 she also was asked to contribute to the Band Aid 20 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?". She had a big role in the song, singing with fellow British singer Will Young. She also recorded the theme song for the second Bridget Jones movie, a cover of Sam Brown’s song “Stop”. Like her previous songs this also went top 10.
Her third album, "Walk With Me" is out in the shops now, and features the hit singles "Something About You" and "Beware Of The Dog", which samples 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode.

For all the gentlemen
Pick your game up, track your lady type
Sign your name up, hustle who you like
Last time we made a ten
So that's right where we begin
Follow me up, to the city lights
I'm gonna shake a little tonight
Oh, are you seein' how I love to dance
Are you working up a master plan
Here I am
And I'm waitin' on a fine romance, hmm
If you got your eyes on me
Keep it rollin' heavily, yeah
If you want me to stay
[Chorus]
You better spin that record one more time
(Ah, ah yeah, one time, oh)
Baby give me all them old school rhymes
(Ooh-oh-ooh-oh)
Wanna feel vibrations up my spine
(Ah, ah yeah, my spine)
You better work that hustle how I like
(Ooh-oh-ooh-oh)
Yeah, I got the feelin' back
I know just what to do with that
Shola (?) dropping, I throw you a glass
Check you know him with your head
And with the palm of your hands, baby
The floor's starting to react
Watch opposites attractThe spots heavin', expect beatin'
I'm gonna shake a little, woah
Oh, are you seein' how I love to dance
Are you working up a master plan
Here I am
And I'm waitin' on a fine romance, hmm
If you got your eyes on me
Keep it rollin' heavily, yeah
If you want me to stay
[Chorus]
It's Sway and Jamelia
You better get familiar
Gonna keep on hustlin'
Tryna make a million
When Sway steps in the place, there's no replacement
You can either move to the base, or move to the basement
DJ wanna wheel it out
Spin it back and speed it out
Turn it up in your car
But if you're on a bike then pop a wheelie
What's gwannin', darling
Maybe one day we can meet up
You can help me put my feet up
Then we can mess the sheets up
Listen, the lion's back and about to claim the lion's share
And anybody denying that will end up lying there
See I'm a pioneer
They didn't see me
I make the party jump
Even if it is the B.E.D
[Chorus:Repeat x2]
Hey yeah, yeah
