Afterwards she retired (temporarily) from music business to give birth to a baby girl in March 2001. While bringing up her daughter Teja, Jamelia made plans for a comeback and in 2003 her sophomore album Thank You was released. The album went top 5 in the UK and sold over half a million copies. It featured her fifth top 40 hit, "Superstar", a cover of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, which gave her international success in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The single shot to #1 in Australia and was certified "platinum". Follow up single “Thank You” went to number 2 in the UK and the track “See It In A Boy’s Eyes” which was co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also entered the top 5.
That year Jamelia won a record breaking three MOBO awards, winning all of the awards that she was nominated for and she was also one of the nominees for the Mercury Music Prize which celebrates the best of British music.
In the autumn of 2004 she also was asked to contribute to the Band Aid 20 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?". She had a big role in the song, singing with fellow British singer Will Young. She also recorded the theme song for the second Bridget Jones movie, a cover of Sam Brown’s song “Stop”. Like her previous songs this also went top 10.
Her third album, "Walk With Me" is out in the shops now, and features the hit singles "Something About You" and "Beware Of The Dog", which samples 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode.

(ooh)
Did you never worry that Id come to depend on you
(oooh)
I gave you all the love I had in me
Now I find you lied and I can't believe its true
Oooh whoa oh
Before you tear me apart
You better stop (stop)
Before you go and break my heart
Ooooh oooh oooh you better stop
Time after time I tried to walk away
But its not that easy,
When you soul is torn in two
So I just resigned myself to it everyday yeh
And now all that I can do is to leave it up to you aah oooh
Ooh whoa oh
You better stop (stop)
Before you tear me apart
You better stop (stop)
Before you go and break my heart
Ooooh oooh oooh you better stop
Ohh ooh whoa you better stop
If you love me
Now the time to be sorry
I won't believe that you'd walk out on me baby
Ohhh yehhh
Oooh!
Ooh whoa oh
You better stop (stop)
Before you tear me apart
You better stop (stop)
Before you go and break my heart
No whoa whoa you'd better stop, stop
Oooh whoa oh
You'd better stop, stop stop
You'd better stop, stop
The song Stop by Jamelia talks about a relationship that was built on love and trust but later revealed that it was all a lie. The chorus of the song repeatedly sings "You better stop before you tear me apart, before you go and break my heart". The lyrics are implying that the relationship has gone too far and either the partner stops what they are doing, or they will destroy the other person. The singer tells her partner that she has given him all her love, but he has lied to her, and she cannot believe the person she fell in love with would do this to her.
The lyrics show the inner struggle of the singer as she tries to walk away from the relationship but cannot do it easily because her soul is torn in two. She has resigned herself to the relationship, accepted that it is causing her pain, but she cannot leave unless her partner ends the cycle of lies and deceit. The lyrics show a desperate plea to the partner to stop what they are doing and make things right if they truly loved the singer.
Overall, Jamelia's song Stop touches on the theme of heartbreak and betrayal in relationships. The lyrics show the emotional pain that comes with realizing that someone you love has deceived you. The chorus of the song is a warning to the partner that they should stop their harmful behavior before it's too late. The song's popularity can be attributed to its relatability as many people have experienced similar situations in their relationships.
