Afterwards she retired (temporarily) from music business to give birth to a baby girl in March 2001. While bringing up her daughter Teja, Jamelia made plans for a comeback and in 2003 her sophomore album Thank You was released. The album went top 5 in the UK and sold over half a million copies. It featured her fifth top 40 hit, "Superstar", a cover of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, which gave her international success in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The single shot to #1 in Australia and was certified "platinum". Follow up single βThank Youβ went to number 2 in the UK and the track βSee It In A Boyβs Eyesβ which was co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also entered the top 5.
That year Jamelia won a record breaking three MOBO awards, winning all of the awards that she was nominated for and she was also one of the nominees for the Mercury Music Prize which celebrates the best of British music.
In the autumn of 2004 she also was asked to contribute to the Band Aid 20 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?". She had a big role in the song, singing with fellow British singer Will Young. She also recorded the theme song for the second Bridget Jones movie, a cover of Sam Brownβs song βStopβ. Like her previous songs this also went top 10.
Her third album, "Walk With Me" is out in the shops now, and features the hit singles "Something About You" and "Beware Of The Dog", which samples 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode.

Oh my heart don't feel the same
Nothing change nothing change
Comrade I don't feel the same
With my foot to the floor
Hear my key turn in the door
Holing back what's in store?
When a girl wants a little bit more
What's a girl like me to do?
When she don't get a thing from you
Want to know where your going to
Have to do watcha have to do
What's a girl supposed to try?
When all you do is criticise
Pretty soon you'll realise,
I can see it I can see it in a boy's eyes
See it in a boy's, see it in a boy's eyes
See it in a boy's, see it in a boy's eyes
When it rains when it rains
On my heart don't feel the same
There's the sun in my sky
You don't see you don't even try
But you'd die before you cry
Solitude is where you fly
You don't say this ain't right,
But I see it in your eyes
What's a girl like me to do?
When she don't get a thing from you
Want to know where your going to
Have to do watcha have to do
What's a girl supposed to try?
When all you do is criticise
Pretty soon you'll realise
I can see it I can see it in a boy's eyes
See it in a boy's, see it in a boy's eyes
See it in a boy's, see it in a boy's eyes
La la la la la la la la la la la la
What's a girl like me to do?
When she don't get a thing from you
Want to know where your going to
Have to do watcha have to do
What's a girl supposed to say?
Just turn around and walk away?
Pretty soon you'll realise,
I can see it I can see it in a boy's eyes
What's a girl like me to do?
When she don't get a thing from you
Want to know where your going to
Have to do watcha have to do
What's a girl supposed to say?
Just turn around and walk away?
Pretty soon you'll realise,
I can see it I can see it in a boy's eyes
I can see it in a boy's eyes I can see it in a boy's eyes
See it in a boy's see it in a boys eyes
In "Taxi" by Jamelia, the lyrics talk about a girl who is not getting what she needs from a relationship. When it rains, something changes in her heart and she realizes nothing is changing in the relationship. She puts the pedal to the floor, but she hides what she has in store. The girl wants more from the relationship but doesn't know what to do. She can see that the boy is not giving her enough, and she can see it in his eyes. The song encourages the girl to do what she has to do to get what she needs from the relationship even if that means walking away.
The chorus stresses how the girl can see the truth in the boy's eyes even if he doesn't say it out loud. When it rains, the girl's heart feels different, but she can't seem to get through to the boy. She wants to know where the boy is going without her, but he won't tell her. The boy will die before he cries, and he finds solitude somewhere else. The girl can see that the boy knows this relationship is not right, but he refuses to admit it out loud.
Overall, "Taxi" is a song about a girl who wants more from her relationship but is stuck because the boy is emotionally unavailable. The song is encouraging her to do what is best for her even when that means walking away from the relationship.
