Born Of Frustration
James Lyrics

Wooooowooooowoooowooo
Wooooowooooowoooowooo
All this frustration
I can't meet all my desires
Strange conversation
Self control has just expired
All an illusion
Only in my head you don't exist
Who are you foolin'
Don't need a shrink or an exorcist
Lalalala
lalalala
lalalala
la
Wooooowooooowoooowooo
Show me the movie of who you are and where you're from
Born of frustration
Caught upon the webs you spun
Where's ther confusion
A vision of what life is like
Show the movie that does't deal in black and white
Talk talk talkin 'bout who's to blame
But all that counts in how to change
Stop stop talkin 'bout who's to blame
When all that counts in how to change
Lalalala
lalalala
lalalala
la
All this frustration
All this frustration
Who put round eyes on a butterfly's wings
All this frustration
All this frustration
Who gave the leopard spots and taught the birds to sing
Born of frustration
Born of frustration
Wooooowooooowoooowooo
Wooooowooooowoooowooo
I'm living in the weeds where nothing is the way it seems
Where no one is who they need to be
Where nothing seems that real to me
'Bout time we filled our lives
Upon the walls of gold no solid ground
The world is spinnin' endlessly
We're clinging to our own beliefs
Born of frustration
Born of frustration

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to James's song "Born of Frustration" are about feeling unsatisfied with life and struggling to find a sense of control over one's desires. The first verse reflects on the illusions and self-delusions that hold one back, and the frustration that comes along with them. The chorus is a plea to see someone for who they really are, to transcend the webs of confusion and prejudice that hold us captive. The second verse brings up the ways in which we talk about blame and change, urging listeners to focus on making actual changes rather than just talking about them. The final verse is about the disillusionment of living in a world that seems like a fantasy, where nothing is as it seems and no one is who they need to be.

My 18yr old son came to me a few days ago and asked if I'd heard of a band called "James". I told him this is one of my favourite songs of all time. He was amazed that a dinosaur like myself had such good taste in music. Faith in humanity restored.

In 2003 I bought a gently used 2001 GSXR 1000. Put the buds in the ears and 10 seconds into this song I was at 100 mph topping out in third gear on a great 2 mile stretch of a straight road near Warsaw Ohio. If you ride it is still an amazing song to play while ripping it or just cruising. Yea I'm 62 and lived to tell the tale.

That my friend is exactly why I stopped listening to slipknot on my gsxr. Something about it just cranks the wrist down 😁.
This is exactly the music for a long cruise. Crap day, buds in helmet on and down the road. Hour later forgotten about the day

I am physically disabled by a car accident 18 years ago since then, music is my support, thanks :-))
