Chocolate
James Blunt Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In my bedroom
She was eating such wild chocolate
Didn't leave me much shared room
Its name I couldn't see
But she gave it to me
I lost my head
I started singing
Only the crumbliest
Flakiest chocolate yeah
Taste like chocolate never tasted before
Only the crumbliest
Flakiest chocolate yeah
Taste like chocolate never tasted before
Then I was gone
In a world of my own
Feels like electricity is
Running through every bone
My girl and me
We're living free yeah
On the crumbliest milk chocolate in the world
We were singing
Only the crumbliest
Flakiest chocolate yeah
Taste like chocolate never tasted before
And only the crumbliest
Flakiest chocolate
Taste like chocolate never tasted before
The lyrics of James Blunt's "Chocolate" depict a scene where the singer is with a girl in his bedroom and she's indulging in some delicious chocolate. The name of the chocolate is not revealed but the girl gives some to the singer. As soon as he takes a bite, he loses his head and starts singing "Only the crumbliest flakiest chocolate yeah, Taste like chocolate never tasted before". He describes the sensation of being transported to a different world where he feels an electric current coursing through his body, all thanks to this milk chocolate he's eating with his girl. They both are singing and living free.
The lyrics of "Chocolate" are not just about the pleasure of eating chocolate but also symbolize the pleasure that human beings seek in life. Chocolate, in this song, represents the little things in life that bring immense joy and happiness. The way the singer loses himself in the moment and feels electrically charged signifies the power things like love and joy can have over us.
Overall, "Chocolate" by James Blunt is a beautiful song that talks about the little pleasures in life and how they make life richer and more valuable. The symbolic use of chocolate in the lyrics makes it a relatable and enjoyable song to many people on many levels.
