Fall at Your Feet
James Blunt Lyrics

And I feel like I'm moving inside her
Lying in the dark
And the thing that I'm beginning to know of
Let it go
I'll be there when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
Do let your tears rain down on me
You're hiding from me now
There's something in the way that you're talking
Words don't sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you
Go now
I'll be there when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
Do let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I'm more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help
Who knows where that might lead
I fall
The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I'm more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help
Who knows where that might lead
I fall at your feet
In James Blunt's song Fall At Your Feet, the singer is in a very intimate situation with his partner. He is lying in the dark with her, possibly in bed, and feels like he is moving inside her. This could mean they are physically intimate, but could also represent an emotional connection. The singer is beginning to understand something about his partner, and is urging her to let go of whatever is troubling her. He wants her to know that he will always be there for her, and will fall at her feet whenever she needs him. He is willing to offer himself completely, whether she wants his presence or his help.
The second verse suggests that something has changed between the singer and his partner. She is hiding from him, and the way she speaks doesn't sound right to him. However, he can still hear that there's something going on inside her. He urges her to go if she needs to, but promises that he will always be there when she calls. The line "whenever I touch your slow turning pain" is particularly poignant. It suggests that the singer is aware of his partner's pain, but he only touches it slowly, cautiously. He wants to help her, but he knows it won't be easy.
Overall, Fall At Your Feet is a deeply emotional song about the complexities of love and relationships. It speaks to the idea that sometimes you need to be able to fall apart in front of someone, and that there is a deep comfort in knowing that someone will always be there for you, no matter what.

I never really liked James Blunt's songs, but this is really good, very emotional and he owns it with a voice I never knew he had. Fair play. Crowded House would be happy with this, perhaps better than the original.
