This song made my friend Vee cry when me, them, and one other friend watched it together.

You see, when a group of us watched it previously and got to this song, we had made the joke where it was like "lol this is how we feel towards Vee" and the day after we told Vee about it and watched the movie again.

When we got to this point, Vee realized this was the song we were talking about and started tearing up.

They told me that they'd have their doubts on whether or not our group of amazing friends would manage to truly stick together. But when they realized this was how we view our love towards them, it removed all doubt.

I'm glad it did.

πŸ‘ In James and the Giant Peach, we fly so high,
With James as our heart, we touch the sky.
πŸ› His love and wonder, the sweetest boon,
πŸ› With Peach as home, our spirits touch the moon.

πŸ¦— A Grasshopper's song, a cheerful tune,
🐞 Ladybug's grace, standing by his side,
πŸ› With James as our heart, we touch the sky.

πŸ› Centipede, wise, guiding afternoon,
A glow worm's light, love's eternal guide.
πŸ‘ In James and the Giant Peach, we fly so high,
With James as our heart, we touch the sky.

πŸ‘ The warmth of family, none can deny,
For in James's heart, we all confide.
πŸ› With Peach as home, our spirits touch the moon.

🐞 So amazed by love, he starts to cry,
Together we'll dance, under the starry sigh.
πŸ‘ In James and the Giant Peach, we fly so high,
πŸ› With James as our heart, we touch the sky.πŸ’žπŸ«‚

Something about this trope of a person who's been put through the ringer by life, only to be suddenly adopted into a cluster of misfits with an unconstitutional, genuine love for the protagonist is something that imprinted on me and never left.

@LOPGOH

Sweet. You maintained your inner child. Hi friend 😁.

Very well put.

i feel as if thats why this movie has stuck for me for so long, even though i first watched it as a young child

@matiaspereira9382

@@c0tc4ndy I don't know if this is off-topic but I imagine something kinda similar. I sometimes imagine the main characters from Big Bang Theory are my family. I imagine Leonard and Penny as my parents, Sheldon and Howard as my paternal uncles, Amy and Bernadette as my paternal aunts by marriage and Raj as my paternal half-uncle (a half-uncle is someone's parent's half-sibling in case you don't know). Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj aren't actually brothers or half-brothers but I still imagine them being biologically related

@MilesMario

if only it was true :/

I like the way Roald Dahl was always very honest to children that just because people are related to you, doesn't mean they actually love you, and that adoptive families are just as valid and sometimes even more loving than "real" ones. Like none of these characters have the slightest blood relation to each other, they're all different species from different regions, and yet they love each other far more than James' aunts ever loved him. Same with Matilda, Roald Dahl doesn't ever force the message "Family is forever", because the unfortunate reality is that it isn't.

Those cruel😠 old villains😈, Spiker♀️ and Sponge♀️, hate😑 James Trotter♂️. But don't worry, his enchanted🌌, bugπŸ› friendsπŸ‘©β€β€οΈβ€πŸ‘© still careπŸ’ž for him πŸ˜‡

It was sweet…till you reminded me of the dark cloud that lines over my head every single day of my life…. One day my mom will die. But it’s not your fault. It is true…and I have been like this ever since I lost my grandma. Ever since I can’t get the thought of losing my mom out of my head either.
