His first screen role was Anthony Hope in Tim Burton's 'Sweeney Todd", he also starred as Caius in The Twilight Saga and as the young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. In 2013, he portrayed Jace Wayland in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Jamie is also the lead vocalist, guitarist and founding member of Counterfeit, a band formed in 2015 in London, UK.

Bower attended Bedales School, a boarding school in England. He is a former member of the National Youth Music Theatre. He was the lead singer for The Darling Buds until the band split in 2015. His new band, Counterfeit, released their debut EP Come Get Some on November 27, 2015.
