Waiting
Jamie Campbell Bower Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lights go down
You try to not make a sound
Hearts collide
We still have plenty of time

I'm like a child, a boy young man of 23
And I believe in us cause you believe in me
believe in me

And I'll wait for you in the dark
Arms outstretched comforting lover
My bones may be falling apart
But I'll wait for you come this summer

And I'll wait for you in the dark
Arms outstretched comforting lover
My bones may be falling apart
But I'll wait for you come this summer

Lights go down
We try to not make a sound
Hearts collide
I still have plenty of time

I'm like a child, a boy, young man of 23
And I believe in us cause you believe in me, believe in me

And I'll wait for you in the dark
Arms outstretched comforting lover
My bones may be falling apart
But I'll wait for you come this summer
And I'll wait for you in the dark
Arms outstretched comforting lover
My bones may be falling apart
But I'll wait for you come this summer

So come close, and ill scream
Oh just let me be me
And I fail to see
The dark skies are all that's well inside me

And I'll wait for you in the dark
Arms outstretched comforting lover
My bones may be falling apart
But I'll wait for you come this summer

And I'll wait for you in the dark
Arms outstretched comforting lover
My bones may be falling apart
But I'll wait for come this summer

And I'll wait for you in the dark
Arms outstretched comforting lover
My bones may be falling apart
But I'll wait for come this summer

And I'll wait for you in the dark
Arms outstretched comforting lover

My bones may be falling apart
But you'll help put me back together

Overall Meaning

The song "Waiting" by Jamie Campbell Bower talks about waiting for someone to come back and be with you again. The lyrics hint at a long-distance relationship where the two people involved in the same relationship are miles away from each other. The singer in the song is waiting for his lover to come back to him as he stands in the dark, keeping his arms outstretched.

The opening lines of "Lights go down, you try to not make a sound" indicate that the setting is a quiet and dark place, and the singer is waiting for his lover who is yet to arrive. The lyrics "My bones may be falling apart, but I'll wait for you come this summer" showcase the lengths the singer is willing to go to be with his lover. He is ready to overlook the difficulties of the long-distance relationship and wait for his partner for any amount of time.

The song ends on a hopeful note as the singer essentially tells his lover that he may be falling apart internally, but he knows she can help put him back together again. This song is a beautiful tribute to love and long-distance relationships, which can be difficult to maintain but are worth it when the love is strong.

I literally spoiled myself by searching him. When I was watching Stranger Things I was like "This is Jamie Bower from Twilight and Harry Potter right?", so I went to google and searched Jamie Campbell Bower, and the first link showed was titled "Jamie Campbell Bower, the actor behind Vecna on Stranger Things" -.-
So I basically knew he was going to be revealed as Vecna in episode 2. God damn it xD

People just began to notice Jamie from stranger things even though he appeared in other big movies such as harry potter, twilight, and the mortal instruments city of bones. He is not only a brilliant actor but also an accomplished singer and model. I could listen to his songs all day. Love you, Jamie!
