Had to watch Game of Thrones again the season on a whole was not the best but episode 3 and 5 was good. One thing about the season that they did do well was the farewells they did a good job with whoever had to say goodbye episode 4, 5 and 6 was great in that regard.

Great performances from all the actors words they used in those farewell scenes.

Jon and Tormund
Jamie and Brienne
Tyrion to Varys
Jamie and Tyrion
Jamie and Cersei together
Arya and the Hound
Jon and Tyrion
Jon saying goodbye to Arya, Brann and Sansa.
All great moments that is something I think every fan can agree on.

Jamie and Tyrion best scene of the entire series for farewells.

To the people angry that this scene undid jaime's character development:

Characters can go through redemption and still fall. Also consider this: Cersei is an addiction for Jaime. Since they were 15 years old, she has had the power to manipulate him like no other, and he would do anything for her, including joining the kingsguard and foregoing all the lands and titles he would inherit. When Tywin sacked King's Landing, he knew the Lannisters were now enemies to the crown and must choose a side. Perhaps saving innocent lives wasn't the ultimate motivation for Jaime? Maybe he killed Aerys and chose the lannisters simply for Cersei. Through out the series until this point even Jaime himself has not understood the depth of Cersei's influence on him, and is something he has struggled with. Is he a true knight, willing to protect innocents, or is he simply Cersei's plaything? Sure, saving innocent lives is great when it doesnt go against Cersei, but if Jaime had to choose between innocent lives and Cersei, is there anything in the first six seasons that suggests he wouldnt pick Cersei?

And even if he was on the path to redemption, so what? Addicts relapse all the time. Its almost as though sleeping with Brienne gave him clarity that Cersei is the only one he wants to be with, and realizes the extent to which she controls him and is resigned to his fate. Recall this interaction between Olenna and Jaime:

Olenna: "She'll be the end of you"

Jaime: "Possibly. Not much point discussing it with you, is there?"

Olenna: "Perhaps you're right. If she's driven you this far it's gone beyond your control"

Jaime: "Yes. it has"

Their brotherly love has been understated...whenever they met in private, it melted my heart. Such a beautiful siblings relation.

This scene summarizes season 8: something terribly wrong and something amazingly right stitched together. Jamie saying he didn't care for the people of King's Landing is just stupid as it ignores the great character development Jamie had experienced throughout the previous seasons. On the other had, Tyrion telling Jamie he was all he had is definitely one of the most heartfelt moments in the entire show. Those last 35 seconds of the video are simply perfect.

he said he never really cared for them and after the sparrows and the walk of shame nobody in his position would feel differently, that isnt the same as wanting them all dead, so there is absolutely no contradiction there at all

I disagree, if you really think about it, this was better character development. Its more realistic when you realize people can regress in their "change", knowing its harder to stay a changed man than to regress back to your old ways for something you loved all your life.

@bubbathenaslover a lot of people seem to think he went from being a totally oblivious arrogant jerk in the beginning to something else but I dont think he ever totally was that, or not only that; even in some of the early scenes such as when he is talking to robert about stabbing the mad king and when he is talking to Ned about Ned's father being killed by the mad king there was something more going on.

David Rausch

@d bollman exactly
People just didnt get what they wanted from the ending
Admittedly, it could have been a lot better in some respects
But this is excellent. Hes given so much, badically everything, to be with her, it would make sense that hed forsake everything, even his morality for her one last time

@d bollman Jaime Lannister was more honorable than Ned Stark. He seemed arrogant because he stopped caring about people after he saw what people call you and blame you for saving them from the mad king. I mean even I would stop caring. Ned was stupidly honorable but Jaime knew what honor is.
