The band made their debut under Acid Jazz Records but subsequently found mainstream success under Sony. While under this label, three of their albums have charted at number one in the UK, including Emergency on Planet Earth (1993), Synkronized (1999) and A Funk Odyssey (2001). The band's 1998 single, "Deeper Underground", was also number one in their native country.
As of 2017, Jamiroquai had sold more than 26 million albums worldwide. Their third album, Travelling Without Moving (1996), received a Guinness World Record as the best-selling funk album in history. The music video for its lead single, "Virtual Insanity", also contributed to the band's success. The song was named Video of the Year at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards and earned the band a Grammy Award in 1998.

Too Young To Die
Jamiroquai Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Don't want no war no
No, no, no
We're all too young to die
Too young to die
So many people
All around the world, yeah
Seen their brothers fry
(I seen your brother fry)
What's the motive?
In that madness
Oh, I wish I knew, you made my people cry
(You made my people cry)
So politicians
This time
I think you'd better keep your distance
Say, sing it loud
We're too young to
Do-do-do-do-do
Da-da-do, da-da-do-do
Do-do-do-do, da-da-do
Da-da-do
Do-do-do-do-do
Da-da-do, da-da-do-do
Do-do-do-do
Da-da-do, da-da-do
Yo, it's the message?
All gone when we drop the bomb
Can the politicians reassure?
'Cause here I am Presuming that
Nobody wants a war
There's so many people praying
Just to find out if they're staying
But lately stately governments
And disillusioned leaders
Are full of empty promises
But rarely do they feed us
Put our backs against the wall
Or don't we count at all?
Can you decide
Are you mesmerised?
Do you know which side you're standing?
'Cause when it falls don't take us all
Gotta know what we're demanding
I never lie, can't you hear the cry?
Coming from on high
We're too young to die
Do-do-do-do-do
Da-da-do, da-da-do-do
Do-do-do-do, da-da-do
Da-da-do
Do-do-do-do-do
Da-da-do, da-da-do-do
Do-do-do-do
Da-da-do, da-da-do
Do-do-do-do-do
Da-da-do, da-da-do-do
(Oh, don't you know)
(We're too young to die)
(Yeah, oh, I'm too young)
Da-da-do, da-da-do-do
(I'm just too young)
Do-do-do-do-do
Da-da-do, da-da-do-do
(Oh, don't you know)
(We're too young to die)
(Yeah, oh, I'm too young)
Da-da-do, da-da-do-do
(I'm just too young)
Do-do-do-do, da-da-do, da-da-do
"Too Young to Die" by Jamiroquai is a song that speaks about the insanity of war and the pain it causes to people. It talks about how people all around the world are affected by war, causing their brothers to "fry," and how the politicians who are supposed to protect them are failing to do so. The singer wishes he knew the motive behind the madness of war that makes people cry. He urges politicians to keep their distance, saying that they are all too young to die.
The song then shifts to talk about the consequences of dropping bombs and the responsibility that politicians have. The singer questions whether politicians can reassure people and prevent war, stating that nobody wants it. He talks about the desperation of people who pray to find out if they are staying alive. The politicians and leaders promise many things, but rarely do they feed the people or care about them. The singer questions whether people's lives matter to them at all and urges everyone to know which side they stand for because war affects everyone - it falls on everyone.
