Jan Ladislav! Děkujeme za vaši hudbu!

Dussek was NOT one of the "lesser spirits" - as have been said a lot. He was a leading artist pointing towards romanticism! He just sadly died too early - in 1812 - only 52 years old.

I totally agree.

The period orchestra is a tour de force to behold - bringing out 'raw', original elements unheard of (and not possibly so) with a modern orchestra (a couple of versions being commercially available). The 'rippling' pianistic writing so characteristic of Dussek is stretched to the limits and creates fiendish demands on this courageous performer! Not to mention that this is the only recording I've heard performed on a period fortepiano, naturally creating its unique set of challenges. Would really hope for a re-recording of this master work of a concerto (Dussek's greatest, his farewell work to the genre) to be released commercially!

I have listened to this so many times, that I often sing an e flat, when I see this picture. Once I was told, that one cannot train up an absolute hearing - re. tonality... but it happens more and more often.

Muy bethoveniano el concierto, estos checos y sus buenos oficios me cautivan siempre.
@metteholm4833
One could wish, that he had been given more years to live.

This music and composer is overly underrated!
@erika6651
Or maybe underly overrated?
@vinceturner3863
Seems quite original music for the time. Thanks for posting.
