Previously, Janet had been part of a band with some friends called "Walking Spanish," that had performed at music festivals around Sweden. Janet stepped into Play as the new lead singer and mezzo-soprano power vocalist, though she was the youngest member of the group. Janet's first album as a part of Play, Don't Stop the Music, was released on March 9, 2004. A subsequent Christmas album followed in November entitled Play Around the Christmas Tree. Janet appeared in two Play music videos, both for the song "everGirl."
Recently, Janet has been doing some solo work, recording a song for Build-a-Bear Workshop and another song for Kohl's clothing brand everGirl. She also recorded songs for the 2005 Rock Angelz music album to promote the Bratz dolls franchise. She was featured on the Lindsay Lohan remake "Change the World" (background vocals) and lent her vocals in the song "Nobody's Girl". Since the members of Play formalized the group's breakup in September 2005, Janet has been communicating with fans about her efforts to record and release a solo CD.
Breakaway
Janet Leon Lyrics

I?m fed up working overtime
So frustrating
It?s getting late
Seconds closer ?til I make my sweet escape
My heart is aching
I, I, I can?t get you off my mind, mind, mind
It?s all I?m living for
Let my hair down, out the door
I can?t take this anymore
I just wanna, I wanna
I wanna breakaway
Every day the same routine
It?s just the same thing
I just wanna, I wanna
I wanna breakaway
Every day the same routine
It?s just the same thing
Day and night
Just the thought of you gives me those butterflies
Intoxicating
Working you
Is the only work I ever wanna do
Make my move
I gotta get to you
Tonight, night, night it?s all I?m living for
Let my hair down, out the door
I just can?t take this anymore
I just wanna, I wanna
I wanna breakaway
Every day the same routine
It?s just the same thing
I just wanna, I wanna
I wanna breakaway
Every day the same routine
It?s just the same thing
In the song "Breakaway," Janet Leon is expressing her frustration with the monotony of her daily routine and the pressures of her job. She declares that she has had enough and that she wants to break free from her everyday life. The repetition and predictability of her schedule have left her feeling uninspired and unfulfilled, and she longs for a change.
Throughout the song, Leon references her desire to be with someone she has feelings for, as they are the only thing that makes her feel alive and excited. She claims that the thought of this person gives her butterflies and that she wants to be with them more than anything. She believes that breaking away from her current situation will lead her to this person and a better, more fulfilling life.
Overall, the lyrics of "Breakaway" convey a sense of restlessness and longing for something new and exciting. The repetition in the chorus emphasizes Leon's desire to break free from the routine that has left her feeling unfulfilled.
