Devotion
Janice Harper Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'll spend my life being loving and true
I'll spend my life changing old dreams for new
I'll spend my life proving all my devotion to you

All my devotion, each tender emotion
Is yours, my love
Each fond caress, filled with sweet tenderness
Speaks to you, my love

Skies would be grey without stars in the blue
If I had treasures but could not have you
Love me forever and ever again
Will I wander?

My deep devotion resembles an ocean
That sees the shore
Searching a haven, a heart that is laden
Forever more

I'll spend my life being loving and true
I'll spend my life changing old dreams for new

I'll spend my life proving all my devotion to you
(To you, to you)

I posted the lyrics...I don't know why Janis Harper was not more popular because her voice is perfect, her diction is perfect, on key, on time, every time. Just perfection. I wish she could have lived forever. Love you Janice

Janice Harper was definitely out of her time. She had a fantastic voice and deserved to be a tremendous star.

@francosantore98

Because she was fatally late. She was an extraordinary singer, but the times at the time were radically changing, especially for what concerns musical tastes. Janice Harper was a possible, late star. At least, 10, 15 years late had this wasted talent.
Love, Janice.

@Franco Santore But then how can one explain the superstar status that Barbra Streisand achieved years later?

@KatzeKatze-gv3vw

This woman had a wonderful voice, very clear to hear, it makes me dream.

@wartornz11

Thank you...I have been singing this song for fifty years without knowing who sang it or what the name of the song was! Absolutely marvellous. Can't thank you enough. Thank you thank you thank you.

@borden1957

Noticed that you are continuing to do a good job. Do you know how many recordings you have done so far? Noticed that your 1st anniversary is coming soon in December. Did you ever mentioned how you got all those records? Don't give up.

Janice Harper was a great singer! Bon voyage was a big hit and then she seemed to fade away what a pity.

@Alxuc

I remember Janice Harper has a frequent guest on the Dick Clark bandstand show mid 1950’s. There’s is special joy listening to these songs for me . Thank you for posting .
