Go to Sleep
Japanther Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Staring at the backs of their eyelids
I said go to sleep, go to sleep
You're all so boring
Dedicated to all the kids
I lost along the way
The lyrics of Japanther's song "go to sleep" seem to be an ode to the youth and the struggle of growing up. It's a call to all the restless young souls who are aimlessly wandering through life, urging them to embrace the calmness of slumber. The first two lines of the song set up the premise - the song is dedicated to all the kids who are lost in the labyrinth of their thoughts, trying to make sense of the world. The second and third lines of the song, "Staring at the backs of their eyelids, I said go to sleep, go to sleep," are a gentle reminder that sometimes tapping out of life and falling into the unconscious world can be a good thing. It's a call for all the restless souls to take a break and recharge their batteries for a new dawn.
The final line, "You're all so boring," is another nod to the monotony of everyday life. It's a commentary on how the mundanity of daily life can weigh you down. The repetition of the word "sleep" in the chorus seems to reinforce the idea that jumping off the carousel and taking a breather is crucial. However, it's also worth noting that the lyrics are tinged with melancholy, especially the line: "Dedicated to all the kids I lost along the way." It could be interpreted as a reference to the people who never made it through the journey of their youth, whether it be due to untimely deaths or lost opportunities. The lyrics of "go to sleep" convey a strong sense of empathy for the young and restless, urging them to take care of themselves and find solace in peaceful slumber.

Yo estaba en las drogas
tu me viste en sobredosis
yo estaba en un agujero
tu me sostuviste
me mantuviste a salvo, y te pedi llevarme a casa
Tu eras la voz, yo no quize escuchar
y no supe tomar mi decision
no estava tana seguro
asi que empacaste tus cosas,
y tomaste tu propio camino
