I’ve never done one drug I’m 57.
I just knew it never did anything good for anyone.
I would say to all parents check your kids rooms every day.
Or backpacks kids use today.
Clothing, underclothes etc...
My parents checked on my brother and myself like boot camp.
I never gave them a reason but drugs made it into our very quiet beautiful manicured neighborhood.
It doesn’t matter where you live.
Drugs are in your town.
Parents you are not your children’s friend you’re their parents.
Check, check and keep it up.
By college they should have their heads on straight.
But still college also has drugs...

I guess I just want somewhere to share my story.

When I was 19 I took shrooms, and it was like I was turned inside out. As a child, I was very extroverted and loved being around people. And after the shrooms, I felt disconnected from everyone and everything around me. I just wanted to alone. I am learning to feel happiness from within myself, not running from myself. It's been a LONG and PAINFUL process but once it's healed, it's healed and beautiful.

These stories are refreshingly honest and heartbreaking and give me some insight into the addicts in my own family. TBH, there's such a gamut of emotions to deal with for clean loved ones in the fallout--especially when you know an addict isn't in recovery (when they say that they are) & is like a manipulative, lying shell mascoting as the person you loved...I don't know that any addict gets clean and stays clean without dealing head-on with the reasons that they began using in the first place, and the consequences that their use has had. At any rate, it would be really nice to see updates/ follow-ups for these videos.

I've been down the sickening path of opiate addiction- Fentanyl to be exact. Crack, coke, E, Molly, shrooms, acid etc were all a big part of my life for many years...but not 1 of those drugs fucked with my mind like opiates, mainly becuz I wasn't sick without those other drugs. The euphoria, the feeling of being saturated in a warm thick blanket like hug...was bliss. Until it wasn't anymore. Shit turned bad- quick. Death of friends, suicide of my boyfriend, homelessness etc etc etc. I had alienated myself from everything and everyone I loved. Fentanyl (and morphine, oxy, dilaudid etc) rewired my brain....I no longer recognized myself. It was/is a long hard jour

I'm 2 years clean now, and I thank the Lord every single day that I'm still alive and well and also able to wake up every morning and just enjoy it without having to go on "missions" all the time just to get high... chasing that high, always... I'm so happy that that part of my life is over and I learned a huge lesson from it! Thank you for sharing your story, girl! It truly makes me happy to see people get clean and have amazing lives ♡ That's why I'm also becoming a drug/alcohol counselor for a career. Getting clean has opened up so many doors. :)

I would highly recommend considering staying on subutex or suboxone. It's controversial, but extremely helpful when trying to carve out a new life.

Wow!! Amazing story.. I am a heroin addict. I lost my mom 6 months ago unexpectedly and unfortunately relapsed. 3 different rehabs under a 10 year span. I’ve had to restart my sobriety date, but I am clean. 30 days. Rehab never worked for me. Being stripped off suboxone made me go right back to using. Something dr never told me. Cold turkey withdrawals will make u NOT want to pick up again. Stay prayed up! Bless you girl! Xox

When she talked about the first time she smoked opium... I kinda did a "double take". WTF? She said it was "fn amazing"! She didn't say "I liked it". She sounds way too um...happy with it... I hope she's ok. Addiction can be a terminal illness, and hurts families too. Spread compassion people...

Like my stepdaughter, it's amazing that someone can ingest that many drugs as a young person and still survive. But there is no doubt that they have wasted the best years of their lives. A constant tragedy of our times.

Wow the amount of men that was rotating her in life while in addiction is mind boggling. I could not even keep up. A friend in High School had a similar issue. She dated four guys in three months and I was frustrated as to why as she was never like that. It turns out she was imprisoned by heroin addiction. It really makes you act illogically.

I respect the journey and I understand this is about her, but she seems to make it about her a lot. I haven’t heard anything about the effects on her family etc. ( I’m a recovering heroin addict too, I just find it odd that she doesn’t reference the family she has hurt. It’s how she feels sorry for herself)

These stories touch my heart so much. I’m happy that she’s getting help and doing better. I was on cocaine for 3 years. My brain finally hit that I don’t need this shit anymore it’s hurting people around me especially my family. But I did it without rehab and hardly any help. I’m now about going on two sober. I thank god everyday for giving me a second chance to change my ways and I’m happier than I was before. But people who are going through a addiction you aren’t alone. Get help. I think her mother probably caused the problem in the first place. Homeschooled and 5 hours of gymnastics a day for 10 years...? Graduating high school at 16? I wonder what her childhood was like. Sounds like she was driven like a cart horse. Don't think it's a coincidence that she went completely off the rails when she got away to college.

I just want to say for myself I'm an addict I've been in rehab so many times I have tried so many times I went from crack to meth to heroin after my sister died I went to heroin I want to know why that was so important than her family and me now I come to realize my sister was a very sick person and I miss her very much I wanted to go out with her so I picked up the I would date a couple times and died almost where did that one time I think I guess I'm here to say today is my first day on Suboxone wish me luck and keep me in your prayers this time I'm really tired my family love Tammy

My son was a drunk . He felt like as long as he made people laugh while he was drinking it was all good. He did get a DUI and that’s what saved him.

I consider myself lucky that I had a pothead uncle who was also crazy. As a kid I associated 'crazy' with 'pothead' and 'loser', so I never used pot or any drugs though all my friends did. After playing in several bands with pot smokers I still see potheads that way. RIght or wrong, that outlook has served me well.

My parents divorced and I've dealt with shitty people growing up (Middle School, High School, Shitty bosses) and I knew I couldn't afford to put my folks through any addiction and related problems. I was too busy trying to get through school and working to help put food on the table to even consider doing any of that stuff. I've been depressed as hell several times too-- but I knew better than to turn to any of that shit.
