She auditioned for the eighth season of American Idol in Jacksonville, Florida on a whim after traveling to Orlando, Florida to attend the 2008 Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant.[2] She was eliminated in the second Semi-final of Season 8, but was brought back for the Wild Card round, and the judges chose her to join the Top 13. She was the first contestant to be eliminated in the finals, and the second Wild Card finalist to be eliminated in the first episode of the finals in American Idol history, thus joining Leah LaBelle.
Although she is best known for her powerhouse vocals as a finalist in season eight of “American Idol,” Jasmine has worked hard to overcome and achieve so much at a young age. Named Miss Mississippi and placing in the top 10 in Miss America 2015, she paid for college entirely with her contest earnings. Now she’s inspiring audiences with a fresh pop sound and a profound message of hope as an artist and songwriter with Fair Trade Services.
Now at age 26, Jasmine’s experience contributes to the wisdom and poise she carries. She’s on a mission, and she’s just getting started. “I feel like I’m on a journey, and it’s a privilege to be able to share that with people,” she says. “I know this is my purpose. I’m where I’m supposed to be. I want to reach people with the message God’s given me.”
I'll Be There
Jasmine Murray Lyrics

You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back
Where there is love, I'll be there
I'll reach out my hand to you,
I'll have faith in all you do
Chorus:
And oh - I'll be there to comfort you,
Build my world of dreams around you
I'm so glad that I found you
I'll be there with a love that's strong
I'll be your strength, I'll keep holding on
Yes I will, yes I will
Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter
Togetherness, well that's all I'm after
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be there to protect you
With an unselfish love I respect you
Just call my name and I'll be there
(Chorus)
If you should ever find someone new
I know he'd better be good to you
'Cos if he doesn't, I'll be there
Don't you know, baby, yeah yeah
I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name, I'll be there
(Just look over your shoulders, honey - ooh)
I'll be there, I'll be there, whenever you need me, I'll be there
Don't you know, baby, yeah yeah
I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name, I'll be there...
The lyrics of Jasmine Murray's song "I'll Be There" are a cover of Michael Jackson's classic "I'll Be There" from 1970. The song is essentially a love song about committing to another person in a relationship. The singer, presumably a man, pleads with his lover to team up with him to restore love, which seems to be in short supply.
The lyrics of the song suggest that the singer is devoted to his partner, willing to provide comfort and reassurance whenever it is necessary. He promises to be there for her, even in times of turmoil and sorrow. This is evident in lines such as "Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter, Togetherness, well, that's all I'm after, Whenever you need me, I'll be there."
The chorus of the song is perhaps the most iconic part, with the lyrics "I'll be there to comfort you, build my world of dreams around you, I'm so glad that I found you, I'll be there with a love that's strong, I'll be your strength, I'll keep holding on, yes I will, yes I will." These lines strongly emphasize the unconditional commitment and loyalty the singer feels toward his partner.
Overall, the song is a declaration of love and commitment to one's partner, promising to always be there for them no matter what happens.

Jasmine Murray is underrated.
@machoman1016
I don't think so her first performance in the semifinals was terrible and the other performances while better weren't very memorable she has done better for herself now.
@davidhill8565
Jose Vazquez That was a decade ago. Her performances on the show were a far cry from her full potential. Henceforth, she is way better now than she was then. If season 8 were redone today, she’d make it much further. The official YouTube video of her song “Fearless” has garnered 4.3 million views. She was involved in the soundtrack to the film God Is Not Dead 2.

@@davidhill8565 true I was assuming u were talking about her work on the show not her work now.
@davidhill8565
Jose Vazquez Hence, Jasmine was mediocre then, but she’s amazing now. Most rankings of all 178 American Idol finalists on Fox rank her based on her work on the show rather than her work in the last five years; that’s why she’s underrated.
@machoman1016
@@davidhill8565 that's fair i mean Kellie Pickler wasn't so good back then but she's improved greatly now.
@lufflyness
She had a great natural voice which brought something different to the song, she didn't get enough credit for that.
@davidhill8565
Her recent proves that.

she left WAY too early . she had so much potential and she was good and underrated she should’ve been on the tour at least
