In 1996, he released his first solo album Jason Falkner Presents Author Unknown, which was produced, written, and performed almost entirely by Falkner (the only exception being some guitar overdub done by Alain Johannes). Although it received strong critical reviews, it was not a commercial success. During that same year, he wrote several songs on Brendan Benson's album One Mississippi, and played various instruments on an album released in 1996 by Susanna Hoffs. In 1997, he worked with Eric Matthews on a second album, The Lateness of the Hour, co-producing and assisting on five tracks.
In 1999, Falkner released Can You Still Feel?, another album written and performed as an entire solo effort and was produced with Nigel Godrich. In 2000 Jason was kept very busy, touring and contributing to various projects, including working with and touring as a bassist for the French band Air, and contributing guitar parts to a few Paul McCartney songs. He recorded a song for a tribute album, and played backup on Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Brian Reitzell's album Logan's Sanctuary.
Jason is credited as performing several instruments on Beck's albums The Information and Modern Guilt from 2006 and 2008. He is currently a part of Beck and St. Vincent's touring bands.
He released his third album I'm OK... You're OK in Japan in 2007. In 2009, he released his fourth album All Quiet on the Noise Floor, again only in Japan. In 2015, he worked with R. Stevie Moore, releasing a collaboration album called Make It Be.
See You Again
Jason Falkner Lyrics

Full of wonderful strangeness
With colors so vibrant you feel like you should look away
Paint me in your dreams you'll remember me this way
I, I want to life you out of your past
Because I had nothing to do with it say we can leave it behind
My face reflected in your eyes for everyone to see
Until I see you again
Until I see you again
I amazed all the survivors
With my heart strings intact I brought it all back to you
And I, I want to dance with you
I need you to enjoy just the thought of it, give in, give in
Oh walk me through your maze, I promise I won't stray
Until I see you again
Until I see you again
Walk me through your maze forever...
Until I see you again
The lyrics of Jason Falkner's song "See You Again" captures a lot of emotions about life, love and connection. The first stanza talks about how life can be like a painting, full of vibrant colors that one almost wants to look away from them. The second stanza depicts the hope to move on from something that wasn't part of the singer's past and to create a new, colorful future with someone. The singer wants the other person to see themselves through their eyes; to paint a picture of them that is so vivid, they will be remembered that way. The chorus "Until I see you again" repeats over and over, signifying the strong desire to reunite with this person in the future.
The third stanza is a highlight of the song, as the singer expresses a deep desire to dance with the person and to navigate their maze - their minds and thoughts - in order to better understand them. The lyrics could mean that the singer wants to be a part of the person's life and mind, to understand them without any judgment, and to just be with them. The song conveys a deep sense of longing, of hope, and of exploration.
Overall, the song's lyrics speak volumes about the complexity of human connection and the desire to form deep, meaningful bonds with others. It's a poetic exploration of the emotions that often lie beneath the surface of our interactions and relationships.
