McCoy is also one of the four members of the group The Road Hammers, which has released two studio albums, in addition to charting four singles in Canada and one in the United States.
At around the age of 5, his family moved to Camrose, Alberta, returning three years later. "The cowboy culture really stuck with me. I just fell in love with the music. For some reason, as a little kid, I had some sort of connection with these guys who were singing about these depressing things," McCoy said, citing Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash to lesser known artists like Ed Bruce and Wynn Stewart. "I just didn't have a voice for rock 'n' roll." Jason started playing guitar at age 7[1] and wrote his first song when he was 12[1].
In his teens, Jason owned a rock 'n' roll guitar and was partial to AC/DC. In the 1980s, he joined a band called Three Quarter Country, which performed at legions, Saturday night dances, and clubs in Barrie, Midland, Orillia and other small towns. Jason won a talent contest in Toronto in 1988, allowing him to travel to Nashville to record an album with Ray Griff[1]. He later signed with MCA Records in 1995.
On May 1, 1999, he married his long time love, Terrine Barnes.
McCoy is a third of the country-rock trio The Road Hammers, which also features musicians Clayton Bellamy and Chris Byrne. While it seems the majority of his time is going towards The Road Hammers, he is still maintaining a solo career.

cnd butterflies inside just fly away
Baby I disagree
You still do it for me
No need to worry about the winds of change
'Cause all they ever do is fan the flame
Baby can't you see
Chorus
Don't need no whiskey
Don't need no pill
Girl when your with me
It's the sweetest thrill
Your love puts me on a natural high
cnd it keeps getting better as the days go by
c fancy gown, or a cotton dress
Hair all up, or all a mess
You're a sight to see
cnd you still do it for me
Chorus
I may not tell you
Not near enough
But there's nothing in this world
Could ever change my love
You're all I'll ever need
cnd you still do it for me
In Jason McCoy's song "You Still Do It For Me," the lyrics express the lasting love and attraction that the singer feels towards their partner, despite the passing of time. The song begins by addressing the common belief that beauty fades over time and that the initial excitement of a relationship diminishes. However, the singer contradicts this notion, asserting that their partner still ignites the same butterflies and passion within them as they did in the beginning. They disagree with the idea that time diminishes love and attraction.
The lyrics continue to emphasize the unwavering love and devotion towards their partner. The singer declares that there is no need to worry about change because it only enhances the flame of their love. They encourage their partner to see that they still evoke deep feelings within them. The chorus reinforces this sentiment, suggesting that no external factors such as whiskey or pills are needed to sustain their happiness. Being in their partner's presence alone is enough to provide the most enjoyable, natural high.
The second verse further illustrates the enduring love the singer feels for their partner. It doesn't matter if their partner is dressed up in a fancy gown or wearing a simple cotton dress, with their hair done or all messy – their appearance doesn't affect the depth of the singer's attraction. Their partner's presence alone is enough to captivate and enchant them.
The lyrics conclude with the singer acknowledging that they may not always express their feelings enough, but their love for their partner will never change. They emphasize that their partner is all they'll ever need and that they still evoke the same strong emotions within them as they did from the beginning.
Overall, "You Still Do It For Me" conveys a message of enduring love and attraction, challenging the common belief that these feelings fade over time. It speaks to the power of a lasting connection and serves as a reminder of the depth of emotion that can continue even after years together.
