Future Boy
Jason Mraz Lyrics

My time machine crashed over yonder
Syphilis is a bitch but contracting HIV is much worse
Why are you pushing info into me
I have no need for it
I'm from the stars
Well I thought you'd like to know your scoop
I'm taking them back home
So they can see there's a much better place
I've got a sister with an open mind
And my friends are all junkies
But there still my friends
Well as long as they don't use monkeys
We enjoy the heat, the stolen days in this winter of thosand three
Well the future boy said I've got friends
But you know sometimes it all depends
On how tall they are, against yourself
Well I am the future boy
I am the future boy
I am the future boy
I am the future boy
I am the future boy
I am the future boy
I am the future boy
I am the future boy
Find your way home
Well my friends have all gone and left me
So I decided to come here and see
Myself as a baby
But it looks like I'm stuck here this time
Oh shit
I'm gonna miss my friends
But I know you're still the future boy
Yes I'm still the future boy
I'm gonna build you a time machine to get back home
You're still the future boy
Still the future boy
Still the future boy
Well I'm still the future boy
Oh, this whole damn world is your toy boy
So get back on tour boy
And find your way home
The lyrics to Jason Mraz's song Future Boy are quite intriguing and cryptic. The song is essentially a conversation between a person who claims to be from the future and someone from the present who asks the future boy about his origins. The future boy reveals that he is from the stars and that he has come to take babies back with him so that they can experience a better place. There's a mention of contracting sexually transmitted diseases and a warning against how it can lead to HIV.
The conversation and the lyrics take some unusual turns with a mention of a sister with an open mind and friends who are all junkies. However, the future boy makes a point of stating that they are still his friends, but as long as they don't use monkeys. The song ends on a somewhat optimistic note with the future boy wanting to go back home and the other person promising to build him a time machine.
One way to interpret the song is to look at it as a commentary on the state of the world and the disillusionment that we often face in our daily lives. The future boy could be seen as a symbol of hope, a glimpse into the future that shows us that things can be better. The conversation and the lyrics are an attempt to bridge the gap between the present and the future.
