Say goodnight in your own special way
And you rest your head
And you rest it
Your whole mind
And there you go
There you go, so so fast asleep
There you go so so fast away
Without a car
When know where
But there you are without a care
Where you lay
Lay lay, oh, out and away
Spiraling spaces tangled in the morning sun
Touching time trying to find some somewhere
Sleeping sideways
I get folded up in life?
My head explodes and from the mind too much time
For dancing in our heads
Sister don't be shy between little you and I
Oh, miles in line there
Tears beam inside
And we're gonna weep in between the sleep
Until we float away, until we float away
In the broken promises
Too much, too hard to keep
And we would sell our souls to the devil
If he promised to say something we already know, so well
Then it's right on, said right, said it's right on
Took a far tone
Something big that has already begun
Something dead just not quite numb, ah
I say in miles in line tears beside
Oh, and we're gonna weep inbetween the sleep
Until we float away, until we float away
In the broken promises
Said along broken, oh broken promises
Said along broken promises
Da da da…
The lyrics to Jason Mraz's song "Little You & I" speak to the innocent, carefree nature of childhood and the feeling of being lost in the world yet completely content in one's own world. The beginning of the song talks about a child going to bed in their own way, completely at peace with the world around them. The lines "There you go, so so fast asleep, there you go so so fast away" evoke a sense of how quickly children fall asleep and how they seem to drift off, lost in their own thoughts and dreams.
The later lines talk about the struggles of adult life, with the lyrics "In the broken promises, too much, too hard to keep, and we would sell our souls to the devil, if he promised to say something we already know, so well." These lines suggest the difficulties of navigating the world as an adult, of being faced with choices and promises that seem impossible to keep.
Yet, despite those hardships, the song ultimately comes back around to a message of hope and a return to that carefree, childlike state. The lines "we're gonna weep in between the sleep, until we float away, until we float away" suggest a release from worries and the ability to let go and lose oneself in the moment.
Overall, "Little You & I" seems to be about finding joy and peace in the present moment, even as life presents its difficulties.

I get folded up in life?
Am I getting overwhelmed with life?
My head explodes and from the mind too much time
My head is bursting due to overthinking

Sister don't be shy between little you and I
Don't hold back between the two of us
Oh, miles in line there
Oh, miles apart
Tears beam inside
Tears are flowing inside
And we're gonna weep in between the sleep
We will cry during our moments of rest
Until we float away, until we float away

Then it's correct
Took a far tone
Took a distant tone
Something big that has already begun
Something significant that is already underway
Something dead just not quite numb, ah
Something lifeless but not completely desensitized
I say in miles in line tears beside
I say tears are streaming while we are a distance apart
Said along broken, oh broken promises
Said along with broken promises
Said along broken promises
