Or tell you that
But if I didn't say it, well I'd still have felt it
Where's the sense in that?
I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder
Or return to where we were
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
I know I left too much mess and
Destruction to come back again
And I caused nothing but trouble
I understand if you can't talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of it's over
Then I'm sure that that makes sense
I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
And when we meet
Which I'm sure we will
All that was there
Will be there still
I'll let it pass
And hold my tongue
And you will think
That I've moved on
I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
The song 'White Flag' by Jason Mraz is about a person who is devoted to their love and relationship, despite the challenges and setbacks that they have faced. The lyrics convey a sense of perseverance and determination to hold onto the relationship, even if it means going down with the ship. The singer acknowledges that they have made mistakes and caused trouble in the past, but they are willing to accept the consequences and make amends. The chorus of the song, "I will go down with this ship and I won't put my hands up and surrender, there will be no white flag above my door, I'm in love and always will be", is a declaration of the singer's undying love and commitment to the relationship, even in the face of adversity.
The song is an emotional ballad that is open to interpretation, but it is evident that the lyrics are about love and devotion. The use of metaphors, such as "going down with the ship" and "white flag above my door", add depth and meaning to the lyrics. The simple acoustic guitar riff and Jason Mraz's soulful vocals further enhance the emotional impact of the song. Overall, 'White Flag' is a beautiful and poignant song that captures the essence of love and unwavering commitment.

Hey there, Delilah
What's it like in New York city?
I'm a thousand miles away
But, girl, tonight you look so pretty
Yes, you do
Times Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear, it's true
Hey there, Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice, it's my disguise
I'm by your side
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
What you do to me
Hey there, Delilah
I know times are gettin' hard
But just believe me, girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good
Hey there, Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they've got planes and trains and cars
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
And we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah, I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you're to blame
Hey there, Delilah
You be good, and don't you miss me
Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be makin' history like I do
You'll know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there, Delilah, here's to you
This one's for you
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
What you do to me
Oh, whoa, whoa
Oh whoa, oh
Oh, oh

His raging confidence in making it as a guitarist reminds me of a very talented friend who lost the fine motor skills in his hands as a side effect of chemo, right after graduating high school
Reminds me of relationships that I thought would survive distance but didn't
