It was during these intimate worship gatherings that they began to intertwine music with all forms of worship and prayer found in the Bible. They soon realized that the songs God was giving Jason were not simply songs but keys that would open and shut doors in the spirit realm. This culminated in a live worship recording entitled "Key of David." In the fall of 2001, Jason and Rachel ministered at the Call Dc, Nepal, Indonesia, India, and in cities all over the U.S. In addition they have released a new worship album on 40records entitled Faith.
On January 9, 2001 Jason and Rachel had their first child, Samuel James.
“For every revival a voice that penetrates the darkness is raised up. I’ve never heard a clearer voice to this generation nor a purer channel than Jason Upton. In my generation a Keith Green was raised up with a lions roar. The lion can be heard again in the sound and lyrics of this young prophet.” -Lou Engle (The Call)
"A poet with thunder in his voice, a musician with fire in his soul, and a worshipper with truth on his lips. This debut album signals the beginning of a new season of song that will turn back darkness and release praise in the streets. Indeed, it’s already started!" - James Ryle (Author/minister/prophet, Sons of Thunder)
"Jason Upton, what an amazing fresh voice to the body of Christ and to the world. This young man has undeniably just returned from the height of Mount Zion. He sings to the Father with an overwhelming sense of adoration. For those in the church, with ears to hear, he ignites a passion for the secret place of the most high God. To those who have grown cold in heart his voice rings with a holy haunt of the Spirit, crying out "come back home". From the first time I heard Jason Upton I knew God had raised up a voice like unto Jeremiah with the musical passions of King David. Jason's gift will be misunderstood by some, celebrated by others, it will undoubtedly anger hell & delight heaven. One thing for sure is that you won't be able to ignore what Jason is carrying for this generation... Prophetic voices will be heard." - Danny Chambers (Artist, writer, pastor)
"When you hear the passion and intensity in Jason's worship, you'll be stirred to praise Jesus as deeply and exuberantly as he does. Jason approaches God's throne with power, humility, and sincerity... and I believe he is intent on taking everyone in worshipping range along with him!" -Melody Green (author, writer, singer)
Joshua
Jason Upton Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Frightened by the Amorites swift sword
God said Joshua take a stand
Remember my command:
There is no victory without hearts of purity
Spirit of God
Spirit of purity
Spirit who sees
Fire from Heaven, come
Redeeming presence, come
You and I have heard the
Tempters plea
That sin will only hurt if
Someone sees
So we fight the fight to win
Forgetting once again
There is no victory without
Hearts of purity
So before we go to battle
We want to make sure
That we're clean
We want to get our house in order
And have hearts of purity
The lyrics to Jason Upton's song "Joshua" speak to the concept of purity in the face of fear and temptation. Joshua, a Biblical figure known for leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, is described as being on his face before the Lord, afraid of the enemy's impending attack. However, God instructs Joshua to take a stand and remember the commandment that there can be no victory without hearts of purity.
The song then transitions to a message for listeners today, acknowledging the temptation to sin and hide our wrongdoing. Instead, the lyrics urge a fight for purity and a need to remember that victory cannot be achieved without it. The chorus calls out to the "Spirit of God," the "Spirit of purity," and the "Redeeming presence" to come and help achieve this higher state of being.
Overall, the song's message is one of hope and strength in the face of difficulty, with a reminder that purity is key to true success. It encourages listeners to take a closer look at their hearts and motivations, and to strive for a state of grace and goodness that will ultimately lead to victory.

Such an amazing song. I cannot believe there are no comments. This is what comes through trusting in God as He takes you through the trials like fire purifying gold. The refiners fire, brings bold men and women of God. Praise God.
