Webley tours all over the world. He usually performs solo, but occasionally plays with his long-time band mates - Michael McQuilken, Jherek Bischoff and Alex Guy.
Webley used to stage a theatrical death every Halloween, only to resurrect on May Day of the following year, but in 2005 he discontinued the tradition, claiming he did not wish to die annually again. He owns a Toyota Corrolla, which he's altered and named "The Tomato" and he organized and ran Camp Tomato in April of 2005, with friends and fans known as Tomato Scouts ( in retaliation to the comment that he was a sadistic cult leader. ) Camp Tomato has since been a more or less annual event.

And the leaves have all washed away,
And I find myself stumbling,
On something I'm trying to say.
Yeah, the breathing has stopped,
But the hair keeps on growing,
The anchor's been dropped,
But the crew keeps on rowing,
Just the echo remains,
Of the refrain of a drunken song.
That I spent all my days,
Training monkeys to sing along.
Now there's some kind of answer,
Being demanded of us.
But tonight is infected,
I guess we should squeeze out the pus.
Yeah there's dust on the rules,
Of this game we're trying to play.
So I can't tell if I'm getting closer,
Or farther away.
Oh, where are you at?
And where are you going?
The wind doesn't answer,
It just keeps on blowing.
The song "Captain" by Jason Webley is a melancholic yet poignant reflection on life and its uncertainties. The opening lines set the tone for the song, talking about how everything seems to have been cleaned up and put in order, but something still doesn't feel right. Webley talks about trying to express himself but stumbling over his words, symbolizing the difficultly in trying to come to terms with life's complexities. The image of hair growing despite breathing having stopped and the crews continuing to row even though the anchor has been dropped, represents the idea that life goes on despite everything else stopping. Webley then questions the direction of his life, calling out to the captain, asking where they are heading towards, again symbolizing how life can sometimes feel directionless with no clear goal or purpose.
The song then switches to Webley reflecting on his past, talking about how he spent all his days trying to train monkeys to sing along to a drunken song, which can be interpreted as trying to find some sort of meaning to his life. He then says that there's some kind of answer being demanded of us, but tonight is infected, symbolizing the weight of the expectations placed on us and the feeling that it can spread and take over our thoughts and emotions. Webley then talks about the dust on the rules of the game, saying he can't tell if he's getting closer or farther away, illustrating the confusion and uncertainty in his life's journey. The song ends with Webley calling out to the wind, asking where it's going, but realizing that it doesn't have an answer, it just keeps on blowing.
Overall, "Captain" is a reflection on how life can be confusing, filled with uncertainties, and lacking in clear direction. Webley's lyrics provide a poignant look at the search for meaning and purpose, while acknowledging the difficulties that come with it.
