Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Get On Up" by Jauz and Pegboard Nerds is an invitation to dance and move to the beat. The chorus repeats the phrase "Can you feel it? Get on up!" in an almost mantra-like way, encouraging listeners to let loose and feel the music. The repetition of "Get on up" emphasizes the importance of dancing and moving your body, as if it's a necessary action for your physical and mental wellbeing. The last line "Cause your body really needs it" reinforces this idea. The song is meant to be a fun and energetic party anthem that gets everybody on their feet and dancing.

The verses, however, are much shorter and act more like a bridge between the chorus. They only repeat the phrase "Get on up!" without any additional lyrics, creating a sense of urgency and excitement, urging listeners to not waste a single moment without dancing. The song has a simple structure with repetitive lyrics, making it easy to follow along and sing.
