En el año 1999 lanzo su primer disco como solista llamado "10 corazones". Sus otros albumes son "Quitapenas", "Iluminado", "Kimika" y "Villavicio".
Su bien en su estilo de composición de letras posee alguna similitud con su hermano Andrés, Javier logra desmarcase a nivel de melodias y vocalización, lo que hace muy interesante escuchar sus canciones.
