B
Jay-Z Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Why do we argue the way we do
Can't you see girl that I, I'm in love with you
And it hurts (it hurts so bad)
To see you cry (to see you sad and blue)
When I'm needing you the most
But you feel (you feel someone)
When no one (will take the place of you)
And I don't wanne be alone

No I don't wanne be alone no more
Do you believe in love like I do
No I don't wanne be alone no more
Do you believe in love like I do

Don't hide the way you feel for me no more (no more)
Just because we're miles away doesn't mean I'm insecure
And it hurts (it hurts so bad)
To hear you cry (when I can't hold you)
And you're needing me the most
I feel (i feel the same)
Never chance (and I'll always love)

(repeat chorus)
(jay-z)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Seeing shorty at the club
Lying around the block
Say I know a better place if you down me right
Too many clowns in this spot
No, I don't bump like that
Goes to where I have a beer and a shot of jazz
And after that we can head back to the crib
And I can show you just how bachelors live
But I'm sick of being alone,
Waiting for the phone,
For cutie to call with the bootie call
Rock-a-fella why'all

Don't run away from my love that you need
Don't turn away from my love you will see
You are the reason that I wanne live
And I want you to remain with me

(repeat chorus 3 times)

Overall Meaning

In Jay-Z's song "B*****S & Sisters," the rap artist discusses the differences between "sisters" and "b*****s" and how they behave differently. Throughout the song, Jay-Z addresses various women and ultimately distinguishes sisters as hardworking, truthful, and loyal while b*****s are manipulative, dishonest, and disloyal.

Jay-Z seems to suggest that b*****s are women who are only interested in sleeping with famous men or benefiting from their fame, while sisters are women who have their own careers and are capable of supporting themselves. He also touches on the fact that some men are drawn to b*****s and their manipulative ways, while others prefer the honesty and loyalty of sisters.

Moreover, the term 'b***h' comes from the word 'besh', which means female dog. It's a slang word for a female dog and has taken on additional connotations in the urban American culture. He puts a spotlight on the usage of the word 'bitch' and the difference between addressing someone as a sister and a b****. Jay-Z uses this song as a platform to encourage people to be distinguished as a sister instead of a bitch, and also the idea of resisting the notion that women are manipulative and dishonest.

Lyrics: Bonnie & Clyde

Uhh, uhh, uhh
You ready B? Let's go get 'em
Look for me, Young, B, cruising down the Westside highway
Doing what we like to do, our, way
Eyes behind shades, this necklace the reason
All of my dates been blind dates
But today, I got my thoroughest girl wit me
I'm mashing the gas, she's grabbing the wheel
It's true to the heart, she rides with me
The new Bobby and Whitney
Only time we don't speak is during 'Sex and the City'
She gets Carrie fever but soon as the show is over
She's right back to being my soldier
'Cause mami's a rider and I'm a roller
Put us together, how they gon' stop both us?
What ever she lacks, I'm right over her shoulder
When I'm off track mami is keeping me focused
So let's, lock this down like it's supposed to be
The '03 Bonnie & Clyde, Hov' and B
All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend
Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend
All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend
Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend
The problem is, you dudes treat the one that you loving
With the same respect that you treat the one that you humping
Now they 'bout nothing if ever you mad about something
It won't be that, oh no it won't be that
I don't be at, places where we comfy at
With no be-atch, oh no, you won't see that
And no, I ain't perfect, nobody walking this earth's surface is
But girlfriend, work with the kid
I keep you working at Kermain, Birkin Bag
Manolo Blahnik Timbs, aviator lens
600 drops, Mercedes Benz
The only time you wear Burberry to swim
And I don't have to worry, only worry is him
She do anything necessary for him
And I do anything necessary for her
So don't let the necessary occur, yep
All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend
Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend
All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend
Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend
If I was your girlfriend
I'll be there for you, if somebody hurts you
Even if it's somebody takes my place
Yeah-hee
(Break it down for 'em)
Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be
And so I put this on my life
Nobody or nothing will ever come between us
And I promise I'll give my life
And all of my trust if you was my boyfriend
Put this on my life
The air that I breathe in, all that I believe in
I promise I'll give my life
And all of my trust if you was my boyfriend
All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend
Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend
All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend
Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend

The mid 80s- mid 2000s era will remain unique in music history. The record industry was making so much money they could afford to allocate $1 million plus to music video budgets and that gave us some of the most creative, cinematic and memorable videos. Now all videos are shot on portable digital cameras and all look the same. No more helicopters, speedboats, action sequences. This video, Honey by Mariah Carey and Remember the Times by Michael Jackson are prime examples of absolute classics.

Damn haven’t thought about it. Yeah, these new videos are trash. The concepts are really weak with extras in the video doing nothing. Literally sometimes doing nothing, like a statue

@ObeAroundTheGlobe

the music industry is making even more money today. I think the difference is that technology has improved. Janet and Michael's scream video is still the most expensive video of all time because CGI was so damn expensive back then. Also, nowadays the music videos focus more on the artist rather than the plot. There isn't a need for all the expensive effects. Artistry changes over time
