Jay-z \ Linkin Park Lyrics

Jigga What Ja What Ja What

Can't fuck with me
They ain't ready yet
Uh-huh uh-huh
Yeah, yeah
Motherfuckers want to act loco, hit em wit, numerous
Shots with the fo'-fo'
Fagots running to the Po-Po's, smoke em like cocoa
Fuck rap, coke by the boatload
Fuck dat, on the run-by, gun high, one eye closed
Left holes through some guy clothes
Stop your bullshitting, glock with the full clip
Motherfuckers better duck when the fool spit
One shot could make a nigga do a full flip
See the nigga laying shocked when the bullet hit
And hey ma, how you, know niggas want to buy you
But see me I want to "Fuck for Free" like Akinyele
Take this ride 'til you feel it inside ya belly
If it's tight get the K-why Jelly
All night get you wide up inside the telly
Side to side, til you say Jay-Z you're too much for me

I am a little bit of loneliness, a little bit of disregard
Handful of complaints but I can't help the fact
That everybody can see these scars
(I am)
What I want you to want, what I want you to feel
But it's like no matter what I do, I can't convince you
To just believe this is real
(So I)
Let go watching you turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
That's all I give cause you're all that I've got

Got a condo with nuttin' but condoms in it
The same place where the rhymes is invented
So all I do is rap and sex, imagine how I stroke
See how I was flowing on my last cassette?
Rapid-fire like I'm blasting a Tec, never jam though
Never get high, never run out of ammo
Niggas hating n shit cause I slayed your bitch
You know your favorite, I know it made you sick
And now you're, acting raw but you never had war
Don't know how to carry your hoe, want to marry your hoe
Now she's mad at me, cause Your Majesty, just happened to be
A pimp with a tragedy
She wanted, us to end, cause I fucked her friend
She gave me one more chance and I fucked her again
I seen her tears as she busted in, I said, "Shit..
There's a draft, shut the door bitch and come on in!"

I am, a little bit insecure, a little un-confident
But you don't understand I do what I can
Sometimes I don't make sense
I am, what you never want to say, but I've never had a doubt
It's like no matter what I do I can't convince you for once just to hear me out
So I, let go watching you turn your back like you always do
You face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here cause you're all that I've got

I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me I won't be ignored

Now hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me like it or not
Right now, hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me like it or not
Right now

I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me I won't be ignored
I can't feel (the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me) I won't be ignored

Time won't heal
Don't turn your back on me I won't be ignored

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Jigga What/Faint are divided into two parts: the first part is Jay-Z's aggressive rap verses, and the second part is Linkin Park's chorus and verses that talk about insecurities, sadness, and isolation. In the first part, Jay-Z talks about his gangsta lifestyle, his willingness to kill those who mess with him, and his sexual conquests. He also calls out those who act crazy and reminds them that they don't want to mess with him. The second part, presented by Linkin Park, talks about feelings of loneliness, hurt, and the inability to communicate their emotions to others. They express their frustration, asking their listener to hear them out and not to ignore them, as time won't heal the damage. The combination of these two different styles showcases how music can bring together and embrace seemingly opposite perspectives.

The song is a collaboration between Jay-Z and Linkin Park, and it's from their EP "Collision Course." The EP was a commercial success, and it sold over two million copies in the US.

The rap verses of Jigga What/Faint are from Jay-Z's original song Jigga That N***a, which was released on his 2000 album The Dynasty: Roc La Familia. The chorus and verses are from Linkin Park's song Faint, which was released on their album Meteora in 2003.

Jigga What/Faint was produced by Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park's vocalist, and it features a mixture of rock and hip-hop elements, including guitar riffs, electronic beats, and scratching.

The song was performed as a mashup during the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, where Jay-Z and Linkin Park won the award for Best Collaboration.

Jigga What/Faint was also used in the video game "Madden NFL 2004" and was included in the soundtrack for the movie "Miami Vice."

The song was a critical success, and it received positive reviews from music critics who praised the collaborative efforts of both Jay-Z and Linkin Park.

Jigga What/Faint has been covered by other artists, including British rapper Example, who performed a live mashup of the song and his own hit "Changed the Way You Kiss Me."

The song's lyrics have been interpreted in several different ways, with some highlighting the raw energy of Jay-Z's rap verses and others focusing on the emotional message of Linkin Park's choruses.

Despite being a collaboration between two popular acts, Jigga What/Faint peaked at #58 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, but it was more successful on the US Alternative and Rock charts, where it reached #14 and #3, respectively.

Chords are not known as the song is mainly composed of electronic beats and guitar riffs.

@davidholzer4155

I don't think people realize how revolutionary this was. This wasn't a one off collab or mashup. They managed to produce a whole album and recreated all these songs perfectly flowing the hit songs from both jay-z and Linkin park

@lakeshoresubtleties

Right. I was actually maybe a little young and naive to hip-hop to fully appreciate it, being in my late teens in very white america.

@midnightcoil

Run DMC started it with Aerosmith that was $7,000 times more revolutionary

@bossman9579

@@midnightcoil Dang, thought they just did a song or two. Didn't realize they did a whole concert as well. Good to know.

@nick-ce1yb

Agreed this is a top 5 performance. Blending genres that "shouldn't go together" but we all lonely and want a voice no matter the music

@ukno918

they were fans of each other, so probably had a lot of ideas even before the collab
