When singer Bettina Mischke and keyboard player Roland Grosch decided to found Jazzamor in 2001 they perhaps did not imagine that their minimalistic lounge arrangements would take off so quickly. Two albums in three years have highlighted their productivity as they firm out their smoothe 60s jazzy sounds in Europe's main languages. The albums' commercial success have decided the pair on plunging into the live circuit with the same passion they brought to their recordings.
In 2006 they released their third studio album "Travel... (In Order Not To Arrive)". A trip around the world in music. Each song is placed at a special setting in the world. Sometimes it's the language, other times it's an instrument, a rhythm or a story that brings us on a journey to a distant country or a city. Sometimes it's just a wishful dream, other times tales of being there.

Caminho
Jazzamor Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Deixei toda a família atrás
Ficou só a saudade
Parti para tao longe, pois
Que futuro virá?
Alegrias do passado
levo na bagagem
O caminho, o caminho…
Trabalho todo o dia aqui
Nao conheco ninguém
Me falam dum modo assim
Nao os percebo bem
Alegrias do passado
levo no bagagem
seguindo o caminho
O caminho, o caminho…
The song "Caminho" by Jazzamor talks about a journey, both physical and emotional. The first line, "O caminho, o caminho..." which translates to "The way, the way..." sets the mood for the rest of the song. The first verse talks about leaving one's family and feeling the sadness of being so far away from home. Despite the uncertainty of what the future may hold, there is a sense of optimism in the line "Que futuro virá?" which translates to "What future will come?" The singer carries the joys of the past with them as they set off down the path.
The second verse takes a different tone as the singer talks about working all day and not knowing anyone. There's a sense of alienation as the people around them speak in a way they can't understand. However, the singer remains steadfast in their journey, holding onto the memories of the past as they continue down the path. The repetition of "O caminho, o caminho..." throughout the song serves as a reminder that despite the difficulties one may face, the journey is what is important, not just the destination.
Overall, "Caminho" is a melancholy yet hopeful song that discusses the ups and downs of life's journey. It speaks to the universal experience of leaving home, facing challenges, and holding onto memories of the past.
