When singer Bettina Mischke and keyboard player Roland Grosch decided to found Jazzamor in 2001 they perhaps did not imagine that their minimalistic lounge arrangements would take off so quickly. Two albums in three years have highlighted their productivity as they firm out their smoothe 60s jazzy sounds in Europe's main languages. The albums' commercial success have decided the pair on plunging into the live circuit with the same passion they brought to their recordings.
In 2006 they released their third studio album "Travel... (In Order Not To Arrive)". A trip around the world in music. Each song is placed at a special setting in the world. Sometimes it's the language, other times it's an instrument, a rhythm or a story that brings us on a journey to a distant country or a city. Sometimes it's just a wishful dream, other times tales of being there.

Hidden Treasure
Jazzamor Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tukingoja tunabarikiwa
Kinachounga watu wawili
Pamoja ni upendo na heshima
You found me
Before I found myself on rocky shores
Hidden treasure
Pole pole ndio mwendo wetu
Tukingoja tunabarikiwa
Kinachounga watu wawili
Pamoja ni upendo na heshima
I lost you
Before I lost myself again
Hidden treasure
A pearl I found on lovers' lane
Pole pole ndio mwendo wetu
Tukingoja tunabarikiwa
Kinachounga watu wawili
Pamoja ni upendo na heshima
The verses of this song tells a story of two people who have found each other and considers that their union can be described as love and respect. It alludes to taking things slow and waiting for blessings. One person found the other before they lose themselves in the rocky shores of life. This is the hidden treasure, something precious and valuable found in a place that was once unknown. The second person in turn, found the first on "lovers lane", like a pearl, another treasure discovered. Together, they remind each other that they have to be patient to see that blessings don't necessarily come fast but that hope and love will lead them to joy.
The lyrics also emphasize the idea that what is important in a relationship is mutual respect and love. It suggests that this is what binds two people together and can become a life-long bond if they nurture this kind of connection. The lyrics are poetic, and the chorus repeats the first lines of the first verse, as if reminding the audience of the message of the song.
